According to German news agency SID, the FIBA has asked German federation today, if they had "a general interest" to host an Olympic Qualifier. So this means the banned teams might not be allowed to play at the Olympics or the Qualification tournaments either.

It was absurd, FIBA is how the maphia

Ingo Weiss, the president of the German federation, confirmed, that they have gotten a FIBA-Letter asking them about the Qualification tournament. But I cannot believe that FIBA will ban all these countries. They probably exect them to cancel the Champions League now under this additional pressure.

If all those bans turn into Olympic bans then France and Czech Republic will automatically qualify to the Olympics while Latvia, Belgium, Georgia, Finland and Germany will qualify to the qualifying tournament. The next two will depend on the hosts, if European then Estonia and the Netherlands will compete. Dominican Republic will take Turkey's place for being the highest ranked non-qualified nation.

It probably won't come to this, but it's funny to think about it.

For me this is very funny. They don;t understand that basketball in Europe without Spain,France,Lithuania,Serbia,Croatia,Greece,Italy etc will become one joke sport. Basketball is after football most popular sport in Europe and if this happens the situation will be worse than the current

It think FIBA tries to bluff, but no one will believe them. It would be suicide to exclude all those nations from the olympic games. Its insane that they want to punish national team for the behavior of clubs, IOC should finally make a statement to end all this. I am sure that we will qualify for the olympic games in 2020 and it wouldve been nice to play in Rio, but this would be an extremely embarrassing way to qualify.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

yes :d It will be more popular than EuroBaket for sure.

Yes. And I think this is why FIBA is threatening with the Olympic ban. If all these teams can't play at World Championships and Olympic Games, it would hurt them more. But it would also really hurt Basketball as a sport. FIBA can't honestly want that.

As an outsider it seems FIBA's whole point, against that weird Euroleague with a list of pre-qualified teams, is very good, but they are playing it absolutely horrible

As said here above: FIBA is probably trying to bluff or something.
