:BUR Sessouma swims 50m breaststroke in 57.76.

As far as commentators are concerned, she is from Burundi, obviously.

The start list looks like a regular BMX race start list (albeit a small one), no idea what the 'Mixed' is about..

Each nation has entered a man and woman, their position points will be added together to determine the winning overall team. Can't really see the point of it as they are conducting it as 2 separate events but there you go.

    • We´ll see. anyway, I hope hope so.   It was her first career senior bout, maybe a bit too early, to be thrown in the lion´s den, but if all this will result in a medal in LA 28 I am all in

    • Yeah, we have such a strong crop of Juniors, that we can’t take them all. They all have exciting trajectories but to predict what Junior swimmers will is always difficult. Better to let them all swim together at Juniors than rocketing them all up to seniors and swimming a prelim and going home.
    • Hanlon is the most unlucky, in my opinion. Aside from relay cover, she's the 50m champ and they made a point of including consideration for those events being in LA for the other discretionary picks. Essentially she has the same case for selection as Max Morgan (albeit without the trajectory right now).   Blocksidge's form was way off this week (compared to her previous bests). Obviously being still young you could put that down to relative inexperience. Still, she has World and European Juniors that she could still be selected for this summer. There's an argument that performing well at those might be as beneficial as going to Singapore.   That said, I'm happy that they did take a bunch of discretionary picks. That's not always been the case.
