After 2 years of surgeries and pain whhich resulted in missing the Nightmarelympics in Paris Zapletalová is returning to action in style with beating 400m Hurdles National record 54.24 just a week after beating the 50 years old National Record in the 400m last week 51.91

Really nice to see her back and smiling, Another case of huge determination, perseverance and hardwork resulting in redemption

Just working on her price now.

Mika sosna threw 67.56,past the qualification mark for tokyo in rough conditions in Germany,he's been throwing great and keeps improving his stadum best result, the Ramona experience seems to have benefited him greatly.

Impressive 48.05 win in Ostrava for Chris Robinson in 400m hurdles despite spending most of the race trying to put back his genitalia into his shorts 🤣 And the tv productions gave the zoomed replays  More tv time than they gave Duplantis World record attempts:lol:

Anyone else see Breaking4, Nike's attempt to help Kipyegon run a sub-4 minute mile? Commentators went super smoothly from "she is on pace" to still finding it all fantastic and legendary and historical despite it being entirely clear 400m+ before the finish she wasn't gonna come close :d

She ended up a bit under her own WR, so with all this help and such, one can easily argue that WR was a significantly better run than this. There were also two female pace makers, Jemma Reekie and another, but for some reason they spent 800m running a few positions beind Kipyegon and then stepped out - as planned, apparently.

    • What are the odds WTA/ITF has Kostyuk vs Potapova AO R1 just to see if the hand shake happens?
    • Malinin  opted for the 4-Axel in his Short Program, but faltered, landing him in 3rd thus far (and only 0.05 away from 4th!).  Surely he has the tools to rise back up in the Free Program.  (Also, perhaps this will serve to show him that he is in fact beatable.)
    • I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->
    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
    • That's what I'd plan as well (except for MelFest), but I also know I am hypocritical enough to still want to watch the show and have a fun evening
    • Confirmation about the broadcasting rights.   If I'm reading it right, for most of Europe it will now be exclusive to Discovery/Eurosport or whatever brand they use.     For outside Europe, it's on YouTube. For Planet VPN....well, let us know if you find out.   fil-taker-list-25-26-winterberg-1.pdf   Also, should have mentioned above that the Nations Cup races today are just over one leg, whereas there are two runs in each of the World Cup races.
    • Got our first competition of the season coming up in Solitude, Utah  this weekend.  Live on Discovery Plus etc, plus also YouTube and the Olympic Channel.  If you are new to the sport, the sprint races on Saturday will be the format you'll find easy to understand.     ISMF   ISMF Skimo - YouTube
    • Surely. Her first coach now works in russia (and grandma lives in russia according to Sereda). They were in contact and despite of full funding from  the girl decided to become the star of russian propaganda.  As I saw in X: "It took the Russians four years of war to find a relatively well-known sports personality to carry out such a propaganda operation."
