Not when the Paralympics is on :p

If I didn't have a job, I'd at least try to watch a few hours of that, but sorry, that's just not going to work :d

17 hours minus whatever time I need to clean the house and do shopping every day. Probably around 15. Few events that I can't be bothered with. Mostly Boxing, Artistic swimming, Equestrian Dressage, Golf and Wrestling, as well as the newer show sports like BMX Free and Skateboarding. Breaking idk but probably don't care.

Looking forward to W Volleyball, Decathlon and Heptathlon, Sports Climbing and the Cycling Road Races.

My olympic sport will be watching in secret the Olympics from my workplace during the day. :underwater: So I hope to watch 11+ hours per day !

I'm mostly interested in Athletics, Fencing, Basketball, Table Tennis & Archery I guess.

I am on leave now, so 14 hours + each day will be on my schedule.

My day will start with 1 hour pre show     ( country centric)that hopefully our broadcasters will provide bringing in some top experts. After all events get done for the day I will do my own summary of medal events & then go to bed. 6-7 hours of sleep will be enough. After all its once every 4 years. :d

5 Sports : Field Hockey , Shooting, Athletics, Boxing & Wrestling

5 events: Men’s Javelin, Men’s Decathlon, Men’s Hockey, Recurve Mixed team, Women’s Team TT.

Not interested/Will watch only medal rounds:  Breaking , Surfing, Artistic Swimming , Skateboarding & BMX cycling.

Subpoll

1. Which are the a. 5 sports and b. 5 events your most interested to look forward to?

2.Which 5 sports you are least bothered about?

surely...well...if my dad's health stays good :fingers: I hope to follow the Games all day long, from early morning to late night

1a. swimming, athletics, fencing, judo and cycling (track + MTB cross-country)

1b. that would change according to the :ITA athletes' performance, impossible to say in advance...

for sure, this time the men's Freestyle Wrestling -74kg class would be something special

2. I guess almost every Totallympics user knows what are the "activities" I'm not interested in at all in the Olympic program: artistic swimming, rhythmic gymnastics & trampoline, freestyle bmx, skateboarding (especially park), equestrian dressage and "that one" (I do even refuse to write its name :bones:)

as much as humanly possible ! :d

I will stop everything else in my life and reduce my sleep time too. I usually get weak and sick near the end of the Olympics because of lack of sleep. but this one is in Europe, that's much better time difference for me. no more waking up 4 am in the morning :d

Other than breaking, which I’ll probably only be watching during the medal rounds (but I might decide to skip it entirely), artistic swimming, golf, rhythmic gymnastics, and equestrian (dressage and eventing at least)

Some events/sports I’ll only be watching the closing stages of, like modern pentathlon (shooting and laser run), and the end of the road race.

Tokyo really was a chore, especially when something like triathlon started at 11pm.

I have the whole period off work so all day everyday, just need to hope the second tv still works as it was last used 3 years ago

in Tokyo I managed to sleep 3 hours/day (from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.) for the entire 16 "full days" of the Olympics...and I was 47 and with a broken knee (I couldn't sleep in any case because of the pain...so, why not watching live also in the middle of the night?)

and tbh, I wasn't so sick and/or tired at the end...I was even surprised of how well I could manage that physical challenge

this time, it's gonna be a walk in the park...wake up at 7 and going to sleep at midnight/1 a.m. is basically my everyday's routine

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.
