Christ... Just like the men's 100m freestyle. We are getting the most heartbreaking 4th places in Paris.

This was the worst possible camera angle to show us a sprint from.

Welcome to road cycling sprint coverage.

A good 5th for Georgi. She just didn't have the legs on the last climb. No shame in that given the competition.

Faulkner just casually crossing the line without any celebration, as if she is riding on the home alley

But what a fantastic result for one of the most cool riders on the Tour  The women wasn't even a professional rider a few years back and was working as a data analyst in the Silicon valley. But her growth in cycling has been very fun to watch. An unexpected gold for the :USA , but not a surprising winner for anyone who follows women's cycling.

Anyway, this is still an amazing result. Vas has to win her Olympic medal eventually, she's still just 22 years old and now has two 4th places at the Olympic Games in two different disciplines.

Is :NED Vos going to claim she didn't know :USA Faulkner was up the road?

She did not, in fact, end up claiming that :p

Did say she believes they all just didn't have the legs to go after her anymore.
