Archery at the Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

What a choke for D'Almeida. Even if he reaches round of 8, he will have to face the #1 Korean. His medal chances are basically gone at this point.

You mean the Korean #1 who has never won an individual Olympic medal in two previous appearances? :d

I’m sure it’ll be tough, but far more likely than you’re thinking.

Is now a good time to point out that the winner of the men's ranking round has never won the individual Olympic gold?

It's not just Kim but also Gazoz in his QF bracket. Quite the task.

Wow!! The three most fancied people to win the gold on the same side of the draw. Opens the draw for others.

Amazing, probably hasn’t happened too often even in other sports (shooting). Apart from equestrian there aren’t too many sports where women can challenge the best male athletes. I don’t know much about climbing, but maybe there the best female athletes are also able to challenge the best male athletes?

Only other one is the shooting element of biathlon, where women are regularly better using same equipment.  It might be down to an advantage in shooting position stability through a different body shape.

The difference is also fairly minor in ultra endurance sports.

Keep calm, in 1x1 is almost another sport, nothing is lost yet.

    • Suspect strongly that the Sultan of  is behind Global Wushu!     Another one is long distance & ultra triathlon.  There are literally millions being paid out in prize money to attract big name athletes from several sports, huge FTA TV coverage but seemingly no prospect of any profit.   And the classic is obstacle racing, which has effectively bought up the ownership of Modern Pentathlon.
    • apparently the Japanese organizers rejected OCA's nice request    now OCA is ordering them to do so in a not-so-nice language https://oca.asia/media/attachments/memberships_subcommittee/5/Decision_-_103rd_OCA_EB_Meeting_5ypY8y4.pdf   the last line is very interesting   I knew this for a while, for example that's why Jujjtsu is included in all of OCA events (despite being the worst sport to watch) but good to see OCA admit this. so with the corrupt OCA you can buy your way in. how much they paid the OCA officials for this ?   OK I know Qatar is financially supporting Padel (and UAE is paying everything for Jujitsu) but who is behind Teqball?  ! I don't think Thailand can do that.
    • Important information on team Aerials.   There is no AIN`s team at the start list of the world cup despite of the fact that belorussians have enough athletes to have a team.   https://medias4.fis-ski.com/pdf/2026/FS/8119/2026FS8119SLF1.pdf
    • By the way. It looks like no AIN`s will be in biathlon by the start of the Olympics. Russians filed an appeal to CAS to get AIN statuses in biathlon. But IBU did not agree to have hearings with short procedure. So the decisons are not expected before the end of qulifying period. (FIS could do the same but its top-officials prefer to help russians be back as quick as possible).   I would like to see Dolidovich at the Games. Because she is a real refugee of the relatively high level.
