Outsports is doing a series of feature articles on LGBTQ+ olympians this June. I thought the stories might be of interest to some forum members, so thought I’d give them a quick shout.

Here’s an example on Emma Twigg :NZL : https://www.outsports.com/2024/6/5/24095323/emma-twigg-rowing-paris-summer-olympics-new-zealand-gold-medal/

Not exactly sports news, but Nicolas Keenan, bi Argentinean hockey player (and bi-Olympian lol) is fiancé to Rob Jetten, expected to be asked to form government in Netherlands in upcoming weeks (or months hahaha)

A cool story on who they are and how they met (in Spanish): https://www.lanacion.com.ar/el-mundo/quien-es-nicolas-keenan-el-deportista-argentino-pareja-del-favorito-a-gobernar-holanda-y-como-se-nid30102025/

As leader of the biggest party, he certainly is the one to lead the formation and take initiative in trying to come up with a government, of which he will very likely become the prime minister. Would definitely be a first in the Netherlands, a non-straight prime minister :d

According to Your Scrumhalf Connection, 40% of players at 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup were openly queer.

To be fair, I think most people expected that number to be at least the way it is, if not higher :p

I think that all team sports (at least, many of them) just favor some kind of relationships, I'm not surprised at all when I see all these coming outs

    • Shades of 1998 with  and  in the same group but this time it's really a terrible draw for the Thistles. I recall Brazil and Scotland played in the same group in 1974 and 1990 too so that's quite a high probabiliy rate.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
