Since 2024 Obviously it also has something to do with many R1 matches and night schedule that causes public friction among players. Starting a match at 1:00 am ain't no longer cool...

But the night sessions are still there, they are not getting rid of them.

Yeah, but it's about having only two matches in night session. Expanding R1 into three days means some show courts won't even have a night session on Sunday.

Yeah like ethe wintersport schedule is such a big deal in an Australian January

Over half of singles games are 1st round-64 of 127- so it makes sense to spread them over 3 days (including a weekend day)
