And where you can see how a team's points total is structured. You could follow this at other Olympic Games via various sites, but this year I can't find anything about it. Josh 6,230 Posted March 9 #12 Share Posted March 9 FIVB Elite16 Doha, Qatar Women’s Tournament Gold- Barbara Seixas/Carol Salgado Silver- Brandie Wilkerson/Melissa Humana-Parades Bronze- Kelly Cheng/Sara Hughes Very impressive win for the Canadians in the quarterfinals, defeating dominant World #1 Duda/Ana Patricia in straight sets. Men’s Tournament Gold- Stefan Boermans/Yorick De Groot Silver- David Åhman/Jonatan Hellvig Bronze- Anders Mol/Christian Sørum Boermans/De Groot beat Mol/Sørum not once but twice? Definitely a team to watch out for this season. Full Results Up next on the schedule, the Recife Challenge from March 21-24! Josh 6,230 Posted March 25 #14 Share Posted March 25 (edited) Very surprising result on the women’s side, with Bansley/Bukovec coming out of qualifying to win the silver medal beating some solid teams along the way (including a straight sets win over #1 seed Taina/Victoria in the quarterfinals) They’re most likely not going to be qualifying for Paris through the Olympic Rankings, but pretty much a shoe in for the NORCECA Olympic quota (hope these words don’t come back to bite me in the future ) considering the lack of beach volleyball depth in North America. Actually the only thing that’s stopping them from going to Paris is another Canadian pairing Pavan/McBain, but right now Bansley/Bukovec are a level above them. Josh 6,230 Posted April 15 #18 Share Posted April 15 (edited) Guadalajara Challenge | Guadalajara, Mexico Women’s Tournament Gold- Esmee Bobner/Zoe Verge-Depre Silver- Agatha Bednarczuk/Rebecca Silva Bronze- Heather Bansley/Sophie Bukovec With Bobner/Verge-Depre’s gold medal here, the race for Switzerland’s two Olympic spots is heating up. Did some calculations, Huberli/Brunner now lead with 7560 points (and have a finish to record), Bobner/Verge-Depre are now on 7460 points, and Mader/Verge-Depre stay on 7140 points as they had a bad week losing in the qualies. Likely will be a battle between them and the Tokyo 2020 bronze medalists Mader/Verge-Depre (Esmee’s sister) as the Olympic Ranking is very tight between the three and Huberli/Brunner still have one finish to record (while the other two are trying to replace their poor finishes). But I wouldn’t pencil in Huberli/Brunner’s qualification just yet. Men’s Tournament Gold- Trevor Crabb/Theodore Brunner Silver- Lukas Pfretzschner/Sven Winter Bronze- Evandro Goncalves/Arthur Lanci Diaz/Alayo continue on their hot streak, but fall just off the podium in 4th. Very surprising podium for Pfretzschner/Winter, if they can sustain this type of form in the upcoming months it’ll see them as one of the pairings in contention for an Olympic spot through the European Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament. Full Results Short turnaround between tournaments, because up next we have the Tepic Elite16 from April 17-20! I couldn’t attend in the end, as I had to prepare my tax forms and help my friend to move in to his new appartment. I watch some images, and the event lacked more promotion. Are they eligible for the Continental Cup Final?
