Last minute news: United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal and Switzerland reportedly withdraw from Grand Final :yikes:

To be honest wouldn't be great loss for Europe if :GBR were to withdraw - a friend who saw the performance in the semi-final described it as "watching a lewd act in a grotty public toilet"

It reminded me (and others as well, I saw later) of the bathroom in the opening part of the first Saw movie :p

It was sort of the same as that Polish thing from a few years ago, with the lady and the stick :p

Apparently there has been no contact with the camera person after the incident (despite attempts to clear things up, she refused). So from what we now know, this seems to have been the situation:

- Joost Klein performed in the semi's, then walked off stage rushing to the green room

- There were deals not to film him (apparently a common thing) on the way there

- Against those deals, he was being filmed

- Repeated requests to stop filming were ignored

- Joost then reacted with a 'threatening move' towards the camera (whatever that may be, perhaps a slight swing of the fist, but didn't hit anyone, possibly touched the camera)

- Camera person complained about it, then quickly walked away and refused any contact to clear things up

- Police was called because of that and in the end it was enough to disqualify him

What the actual hell.

Sooooooo he defended himself and that was a huge red flag for the EBU?????

Anyone who's gotten in deep trouble for defending themselves know this all too well

    • Many things, probably they thought it is already over and the win will come itself... but also Nitra improved their play a lot, they outplayed us in physicality in the last 2 games, they won almost every duel. Was hard to watch. Anyway I am still persuated we will finish the job at home with success on Tuesday
    • If you look at their results this season and on the Super Series, it’s not really that surprising.    I’d consider them to be medal contenders.
    • At one point it seemed we were making good progress in this sport, but in the past 1-2 years things seem to have hit a standstill..   Ivaylo Ivanov is still our only elite judoka, but he is passing 30. There were/are some promising youngsters, but they haven't been able to make a jump to the senior level. At this Euro we barely had any first round wins (not including Ivanov). In fencing and taekwondo the results are much more visible for us.
    • yes, but that's only an (important) episode... I mean, what's up with your team more in general...it looks like they got the classic "fear to win", they're not as brilliant as they were in the early games of the series
    • after a few leagues ended well before the true climax, now we have both leagues from the good, old Czechoslovakia going to game #7    shame that both games will be at the exact same time
    • complete blackout resulting in a 5 minutes major 3 minutes to the end
    • Extraliga Playoffs   The Finals (Best-of-7 Series)   Game #6: HC Kometa Brno (4) - HC Dynamo Pardubice (3)  1-5 (0-1, 0-1, 1-3)   the series is tied 3-3 and also in Czechia we're gonna watch the magic of a game 7...Extraliga does never disappoint its fans    Game #7 is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29th in Pardubice @ 6 p.m. CET

    • what a missed chance for     but Giorgia Stangherlin first and Asya Tavano then (in the playoff match, having clearly won the "regular" match against the same opponent) wasted the biggest occasion we ever had in this kind of competition   moreover, in the final match of the "regular 6", Veronica Toniolo got a serious knee injury against Eteri Liparteliani (the match was into the golden score period): she was carted off on a stretcher, screaming in pain
