There’s been a few like that in other divisions too

But either way they’re down to the QF stage for the women’s middleweights and they’re all one win away from the Olympics (with them all getting a second chance too)

Where's this second chance? I was just reading on Lacruz and he was talking about how it's a shame there's not a lot of media attention in the Netherlands, since it's sort of unique both he and Fontijn could go to their second Olympics and Jemyma Betrian is also still in the hunt for a ticket. She's not in this OQT though...

Sorry. I forgot only 4 spots at middleweight :wall:

Still leaves me curious as to what Lacruz meant when saying Betrian is still in the running :d

Qualification as one of the 53 quotas from the BTF rankings, perhaps?

if  Russian Vorontseva had won, Betrian will qualify via ranking. Now she is seconde reserve.

Between rounds scoring not working. Long delay after round 1 of GB-Turkey.

Tough fight. Seemed that the Turk won round 1, Britain round 3 and round 2 was incredibly close.

The British fighter got the judges vote.

Huh, apparently Fontijn's Greek opponent Kyriaki Aslanidi had withdrawn, so both Fontijn and Lacruz :NED are one win away from the Olympics.

Lacruz made it. :NED have their first olympic boxing quota

I know that there is a livestream but i wonder, is there any livescore?

I checked both EUBC and AIBA, to no avail.

Not live score as such but under the video on Olympic channel they’re quick to update the scores after the fights

    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
