So they are going to run countless back and forts on a straight for the marathon like hamsters.  Because closing 5 more streets and going a bit around the city will be such a big problem. Completely destroyed any ambition i had to continue watching this.

I mean, this is why I said that Budapest is a small city. We have a large course for the big annual marathon but you only need to close down the city for one day on Sunday for that. Here you have to close it down for multiple days and the city literally can't function during that. Budapest isn't Paris or London, you would have to close down all the major inner roads during the weekday to have a larger course for this and people need those roads to work and live their lives.

For even years, instead of a WC, why not bring back the Intercalated Games or the Goodwill Games at the least?

Well, the standing jumps, Greek stlyle discus throw and freestyle javelin came and went and the sport has managed to stay relevant.  So I guess eliminating a few less popular events now won't matter.

It won't matter in the sense that it's not going to provide athletics with any advantage, correct. In other words, there is simply no need to remove any of the current events.
