Yup, so the nail-biting relays are not going to happen.

 

For the first time in Lithuanian history, we finish our season in 16th place on the men's side.

 

This means that we will have 4 quotas for our men in every race now.

 

10 years ago our biathlon team was Diana Rasimovičiūtė, less than 10 years ago we had 1 quota for our men. It's truly an amazing feeling to see our small team achieve this, too bad that the women's team is slowly falling apart.

Martin Fourcade is retiring, tomorrow will be his last race (if the pursuits aren't cancelled of course).

Like him or not, I am grateful to have seen him compete.  Two major stars retire in the last two years on the men's side.  Some of the most decorated ever.

But why do they have to go back Saturday? I mean, what's the difference with going back Sunday if all foreign flights (with apparently a government exception) are finished anyway?

As I've said plenty of times, I've never been a fan of Fourcade, but the guy is one of the most exception athletes (overall, especially winter of course) of the past two decades. I hope QFM and Jacquelin can step it up, or else Fourcade's dominance is going to look like nothing compared to JTB's.

They wanted to do it obviously as soon as possible, with the athletes, coaches and staff the plane will bring back home also the 3 TV reporters of our TV in Kontiolahti.

I still don't really know why they wouldn't go after the pursuits, since it doesn't seem to make an actual difference, but sure

I'm confused, the last 2 days the sprints were at 17:30 Finnish time but 15:30 in most of Europe, so isn't the men's pursuit supposed to start now? (13:45 Finnish time)

Because on TV right now they're saying it's in 2 hours.

Edit: I'm guessing they changed the time of the races since they're the last ones of the season?
