Dunadan 1,103 Posted September 26, 2019 #164 Share Posted September 26, 2019 (edited) Wegman already got a top 8 in World Cup though so now NED have a quota and an athlete who satisfied their criteria. But of course not being a medal contender she would bring shame upon her nation so the quota must be refused. Gianlu33 3,718 Posted September 27, 2019 #166 Share Posted September 27, 2019 It's a very nice surprise see Bertoncelli in semifinals after the 1st heat. She was really young, i'm so happy for her
phelps 7,315 Posted September 27, 2019 Author #167 Share Posted September 27, 2019 so far, if we get rid of double starters who already qualified yesterday in women's K1 and can't get another quota place for their NOC, we have the perfect 11 Countries qualified to the Semifinals of the women's C1 after the 1st run... if no other Nation qualifies through the 2nd run, the Olympic Qualification is done already with today's races... Well, this looks like nice scenario. And I would be really for Quota. But I am pretty sure there will qualify more. COuntries. Look, there is no even 2 girls were quite close to top 30. I guess, there will be 2-3 countries in semi that will get unlucky.

Not necessarily. Remember that NOCs can choose OQ in C1 instead of K1

Currently in more sports you can actually choose to switch the Quota. Anyways, this decision usually comes later after the competition. Not right at the competition. So maybe the NOC might make such decision at the end of this year as earliest. Just my guess. But if course they cannot they quota of 2 boats in one category. And if NOC decides to change the quota, there would be probably some kinda re-allocation afterwards.
