Women's Football UEFA European Nations League 2023 - 2024

Recommended Posts

Women’s basketball and women’s football are almost unwatchable, there is just much more money on the men’s side and therefore the quality difference is bigger than in other sports. In tennis there isn’t a big difference when it comes to prize money and therefore women’s tennis is actually watchable. You probably have to avoid (regularly) watching men’s football/basketball if you want to enjoy women’s football/basketball. Someone who is used to eating in three star restaurants probably won’t enjoy eating at a soup kitchen either.

Still :NED 0-0 :GER , but the Dutch have been struggling all game. I don't see us winning this (nor deserving it).

Edit: they scored 0-1 basically as I posted this.

This looks pretty hopeless and Germany isn’t even really doing bits. Looking at this I am kinda surprised we even won a home ‘atch against England (and only narrowly lost the away match)

Yeah we're looking completely out of our depths versus Germany and Spain, the intensity of the game has increased and it feels like our team can't keep up anymore.

This was something that I already felt last Euro, but it felt like Jonker had something to at least make them kinda keep up and the NL group was kind of a surprise at times, but this is just not good enough.

The small basis is a problem when competing against the top nations. The injuries just stack and there are no reserves to salvage anything.

Both Germany and the Netherlands are trash teams, don’t think that the outcome of this match means anything in terms of medal contenders. Hopefully German tv won’t show much football at the Olympics. If the two German handball teams qualify as well, then this might turn into one of the biggest teams Germany ever sent to the Olympics. Sadly the Netherlands will get their revenge in women’s volleyball. Personally I would have preferred it the other way round (Germany qualifying in women’s volleyball and the Netherlands qualifying in women’s football).

This should be the end of the current Dutch generation. It feels like the same 8-9 names are always on the pitch since they won Euros 2017. Too predictable line-up and too old overall.

Especially Spitse and Martens. Spitse is old and Martens hasn’t performed for years. With Ajax performing well in women’s UCL there should be some new names as well.

Defense has already completely changed, but midfield and attack are basically still the same names as 2017.
