Italy looked extremely weak ...

I know that they missed some of their best players, but the same was true for us. It will be really interesting to see which of our talents will play in France/Rio, i think we should send our best talents to Rio, then we would be the favorite for the gold medal. In my opinion France, Spain and Germany should fight for the title, Belgium or England might surprise. France has probably the most talented team in the world right now.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Greece given 10 days to reverse Cup cancellation or face FIFA suspension

FIFA handed Greece's government a 10-day deadline on Tuesday to reverse its decision to cancel the Greek Cup or face an international suspension from football's world governing body.

FIFA sent a two-page letter to Deputy Minister for Sport Stavros Kontonis and the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) demanding that Kontonis change his ruling.

The global body also ordered further talks to make changes to sports legislation planned for May which contradicts FIFA's statutes on self-governance of member associations.

"The FIFA Emergency Committee decided to set a deadline of 15 April 2016 for the decision to (cancel) the 2015/2016 Greek Cup to be reversed, failing which the EPO would face an automatic suspension of its membership," said the letter published on the EPO website.

The ultimatum follows a breakdown in talks held between Kontonis, the EPO and a FIFA delegation in Athens on March 30 to try and resolve the issue.

Kontonis controversially cancelled the cup after the first leg of the semi-final between PAOK Salonika and Olympiakos Piraeus on March 2 was abandoned due to a violent pitch invasion, with fans hurling flares and missiles before being dispersed by riot police.

Kontonis declared his decision was a "legal move" and has insisted that no pronouncement will be made until the EPO's appeal against the move is heard by the Supreme Court on April 19.

FIFA said that any decision by Greece's Supreme Court will not be taken into account, saying it is "irrelevant as it could be withdrawn, and because regardless of the eventual decision, the issues linked to the implementation and the potential interference of the law would remain."

If Greece are suspended by FIFA, their hopes of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup could be in jeopardy as they could be barred from taking part in the qualifiers which kick off in September.

The 2004 European champions failed to qualify for this year's continental competition in France.

Quite incredible that everything started by our Robert Mak

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ended QT leg1  with a big surpise WOLFSBURG :yikes: 2-0 at REAL

It would be awesome if Real gets kicked out, especially to destroy all chances of having another "El Clásico" and getting people all pumped up for the 12548th edition of the same match :p

Am I the only one who has had absolutely enough of this f*cking dumb commercial on Eurosport after almost 4 years? :wall:

I'm especially annoyed by the guy who is watching tv but apparently doesn't understand that a goal has been scored. I mean, hello...that has nothing to do with languages and even if it does, after 4 freaking years, it's enough.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
