The number of medals doesn't reflect it, but Germany should be very happy with the results, especially on the women's side. The women have been dead for a long time now, but suddenly there are multiple amazing talents.

- Pauline Jagsch (born in 2003) finished 7th in women's K1 500 m. The second youngest athlete in the final was 4 years older and the youngest athlete who placed higher than her was 7 years younger.

- The german team finished 4th in women's C2 500 m with a girl born in 2005 (Hedi Kliemke). None of the medalists had anyone born later than 2002.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Why Italy is amazing in rowing and so bad in canoe?

1) Wouldn't say that they are amazing in rowing.

2) Why are GB/Netherlands/Romania/USA "amazing" in rowing but not in canoeing?

3) Why is Hungary amazing in canoeing but not in rowing?

4) Why is Hungary amazing in sprint canoeing but not slalom canoeing?

:FRA wins the B final of the C2 W 500m a small chance of reallocation?

In the old system they were filling up larger boats with reallocated quotas, but that's not the case in the new system, so I think there is no chance for a reallocation. They will have to win the quota at the European qualifiers.

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.
