if true, the only positive thing from this should be no more clapping during the anthem :p

and no more snarky comments by Eastern Europeans afraid of Italian teams benefitting from some sort of cheating or being  helped by referees

It would be a little hypocritical of the IOC to ban/sanction the Italian NOC, when they didn’t take action against the US NOC, after the US government passed a law essentially saying that international competitions with US athletes fall under our legal jurisdiction...

Not sure if it was specifically directed to me, but if you meant that EURO U21 football qualification farce in 2014 ? then, sorry but yes, this was...well, more than suspicious

This will make things a bit confusing when Italy and Russia will play against each other in team sports.

Fencing should be interesting ...

which media do you read?

it's on all kind of media, except those that only consider as sports football and formula 1/Valentino Rossi...

so, no rai (servant of this and all the fuckin' governments in our history), of course...

even on Gazzetta 3000 (once known as the most respectable newspaper in Italy, now a parody of a gossip magazine*) and on the enemy par excellence of any true sport Corsera, they have an article about that (still, a farce of an article and well down on the bottom of their website, but they have it)...

*may the poor souls of Candido Cannavò and Angelo Rizzoli find peace one day...

not only Fencing...adding together Russia, Belarus and Italy, there's a high risk that between 40 and 50 gold medals would be awarded under the IOC Flag and Anthem instead of the proper ones...

most likely we're going to have 2 Nations in the top 10 (1 in the top 5) of the medal table that couldn't even be named...

Italy competed under IOC flag during 1980 Games so let's don't overthink the room here. It wouldn't be the first time multiple nations didn't participate under their own flag.

As for IOC being hypocritical, lol, that's old news. If USA wasn't an Olympic power house they'd have their asses banned for the jurisdiction shift applied by the US politicians. But it's easy to play hardball with Nauru or Somalia and show double standards when it comes to USA :roflmao:
