I don't follow these sports or weight classes very well. Could one of these judo or fencing events be the first French medal of the Games? Or at least in our simulation, because we don't have any French medals in swimming yet.

This day 1 schedule is not good for France. It won't be easy for them to get a gold on Day 1.

 

In Tokyo there was Men's 400m Ind Medley on Day 1...

What's about Shirine Boukli in judo women's -48 kg? 

 

She has won Masters this year and she is nombre one in the world ranking.

I guess you can always name her in the "any other" option...

 

however, she's not going to win the Olympic Gold...Assunta "Susy" Scutto is the name for that!

both Fencing, women's Judo and men's Skateboarding events can easily have a French medallist, even if they're not the no.1 favourite (at least by now) in any of them.

 

however, I'd be surprised if Boukli (Judo) and at least 1 fencer don't make the podium (at least).
