Topicmaster1010 4,308 Posted September 10, 2023 #215 Share Posted September 10, 2023 (edited) 2023 World Junior Rankings: Boys Edition So now that World Juniors are over, I thought it would be interesting to compile a complete list of junior rankings for each event (swimmers born in 2005 or later) since we were missing a lot of names at the championships. The problem is there isn't one website that has a complete set of rankings because the World Aquatics site is as slow as a turtle when it comes to updating results and they don't have every meeting. I had to explore a few additional major senior and junior meets to come up with these rankings so please let me know if there's any result I'm missing. These are just the boys rankings. I'll do the girls rankings later. Freestyle: Spoiler 50m Freestyle: 1. Flynn Southam - 22.29 (World Juniors) 2. Nikoli Blackman - 22.33 (World Juniors) 3. Lorenzo Ballarati - 22.38 (World Juniors) 4. dullard 718 Posted September 10, 2023 #216 Share Posted September 10, 2023 @Topicmaster1010This is much more complete than my World Aquatics + Nuoto merged ranking (see attachment). Are you doing a girls edition? One thing that's really annoying about the WA ranking is some swims that are really good for a junior aren't good enough to make the top 200. They need an option to list the top 200 junior swims. juniors.txt Link to comment https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/17531-swimming-2023-discussion-thread/page/22/#findComment-578935 Share on other sites

They haven't updated it at all since the world championships (besides the World Junior times). I had to check additional meets like the European U23's and Commonwealth Youth Games + other US meets. Thanks for posting your rankings. I completely forgot about Nuotos' rankings. I've combined our two rankings in the post above with the new times that I could verify. However, I think there's a few suspicious things. I could not find the times above from the Irish Summer Championships. There is no way that Omar Khedr's 3:26.26 400m freestyle time is real. Also a lot of birthday's are listed as January 1st, 2005 . I've already verified that William Petric and another Japanese swimmer had 2004 birthday's. Still not sure which year's some Russian and Chinese swimmers were born in since there's so little information on them. I'll keep them on the rankings for now. The WA ranking often has some weird entries (usually CLB) but I didn't merge them manually so I just learn to ignore the weird ones. A couple of years ago I remember they imported results from a meet in the US which had SCY for prelims and then LCM for finals and didn't exclude the SCY times so naturally the top times in every event were all SCY times. And as you've found about Nuoto sometimes the DOBs are wrong. dullard 718 Posted September 11, 2023 #219 Share Posted September 11, 2023 Oh also if you ever notice any problems with Nuoto's rankings they're usually pretty quick to fix them if you report them via the email on the website. Topicmaster1010 4,308 Posted September 11, 2023 #220 Share Posted September 11, 2023 (edited) 2023 World Junior Rankings: Girls Edition Boys rankings can be found here While the boys rankings mostly were filled with swimmers that either competed in the World or European Juniors championships, the girls rankings had a lot more names that didn't. This is mostly since girls tend to peak earlier than boys and are ready to compete at the senior level when they are 18 or younger. The US for example doesn't send any swimmers to World Juniors that already competed at World Championships. Freestyle: Spoiler 50m Freestyle: 1. Cheng Yujie - 24.45 (World Championships) 2.
