Josh 5,713 Posted June 7, 2023 #21 Share Posted June 7, 2023 World Rowing announced today that it will allow a 'limited number' of Russians/Belarusians to compete at the 2023 Rowing World Championships (A key Paris 2024 Qualifier) Athletes from Russia and Belarus will only be allowed to compete in single sculls, coxless pairs, and lightweight single sculls. They also will be allowed to compete in para-rowing single sculls and pairs. They also won't be allowed in other events requiring more than 2 athletes working together - relays, gymnastics team events, 3x3, equestrian team events, fencing team events, archery team events. But they will be allowed ini pairs events , tennis, table tennis, badminton, possibly diving syncro (though I suspect not), track cycling team events? Makedonas 1,584 Posted August 30, 2023 #26 Share Posted August 30, 2023 We won four medals with 7 rowers, 6 of whom were U19 athletes. 16 yo Makrygiannis won bronze in M1X which normally would be an amazing achievement for a 16 yo, but it's hard to judge based on how weak this year's U23 field was.
