the first half finished 0-0. France had zero shot on goal. Iran tried couple of shots . one of them was serious

 

but then this happened at the start of 2nd half and after that our coach said OK I give up Frenchies are better actors. and then it was a serious match for something like 15 minutes 

 

Iran has a tough match vs Morocco first to meet the very strong Brazil in the QF.  let's hope we see the repeat of 2016 match

we had the first huge huge upset of the tournament,  Venezuela knocked out one of the favorites Spain by a late goal.

I remember the old days - when we were still a power in this sport, we usually lost to Spain in the European Championship final or the World Cup semi-final :P However, the World Cup final was usually Brazil-Spain.

Afghanistan has some kind of government in exile? That's a bit different than China-Taiwan, which this second occupies some territory on an island.

not really, there are some guys here and there still keeping the embassy in this and that country or the UN but there is nothing left of that previous government which was weak and corrupt and gave up everything easily to Taleban savages 

 

Taleban run everything inside the country, yet nobody officially recognizes them. sport organizations still recognize the old flag and the old national anthem etc.

but unfortunately this is a lost cause, the world sooner of later has no choice but to accept these savages. 

 

so far Taleban is OK with this, they are busy with their own stupid/weird things inside the country. but I think at some point in future they will ban Afghan athletes inside Afghanistan to compete under this flag. IOC always can find some Afghan refugees in Europe to compete under the old Afghan flag though.

 

this futsal team almost has no tie with the Taleban, most of these guys were/are refugees in Iran,  they are from Hazara ethnic. (Talebans are mostly Pashtun) but even the Cricket team which consist of Pashtun people still compete under the old Afghan flag, as I said Talebs are OK with this FOR NOW. 

 

btw they had a great tournament. they lost to Paraguay only in extra time

Morocco won after almost being stolen the victory by the refs. Those officials should be sent home after calling that joke foul in the last second.
