M 3x3 Ice Hockey Mixed NOC´s semifinals are known

Green vs Black

Brown vs Red

ps. for the prediction contest, already 2 slovak boys are assured to medal, since 3 of the 4 semifinalists have a :SVK player (Adam Sýkora for Black, Peter Repčík for Red and the team Brown GK is Rastislav Eliáš from HC Košice ) Hard luck for the last 4th slovak guy in the competition Patrik Melicher finished with his team Grey in 5th place as the first under the line becuase of the lost h-2-h match against the Black team (both finished with 12 points the round-robin)

and the Women´s Semifinals are

Black vs Brown

Blue vs Yellow

and for the prediction contest, the answer is YES. like among boys also 2 SVK girls are already assured to medal, since just like among the boys 3 of the 4 semifinalists have in their roster a :SVK girl. Nikola Janeková for Black, Zuzana Dobiašová for Blue and the Brown GK is Ivana Látková.

Ugh, even landing a triple axel is not enough to remove a Russian from the podium, even if that Russian fell down twice.

Russians can basically go home without a medal only if they jump out of the arena or something.

Even in rhythmic gymnastics things have changed substantially (Kapranova had big mistakes in 2008 and didn't get a medal), but I have to say I'm completely unaware of the rules of figure skating. It's a sport I find unbearably boring. The jumps all look the same, the long program is, well, too long to keep my interest and most of the performances are over the top and tacky.

This is true for the Women I find. There’s too much drama. It pushes negative stereotypes. We have almost no black skaters expect for a few notable exceptions. Plus, the most famous events in the sport are judging/out of competition controversies.

I find men’s skating and pairs skating enjoyable. I can barely watch Ice Dancing, and women’s figure skating is everything I hate about modern society, so...

I also say this as someone who loves artistic sports. I do believe there’s a place for them on the program. The problem with figure skating is the method of judgment sucks in multiple ways. We saw a girl with multiple falls win a bronze medal today, that’s inexcusable in my book.

McKayla Maroney won an Olympic silver landing flat on her ass on 50% of her vaults  Haven't seen any sport determined more by bad judgement than gymnastics. Figure skating is for insiders, others simply look for cool outfits and music. Not to mention the sport is notoriously boring in first place.

    • Unfortunate, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm looking forward to Thursday evening, when the team captain's meeting is over and we have our very first World Cup start list of the season. Always a cool moment to see who's there and everything
    • Today I unpacked some of the boxes in which we have put my way too many books to move to our house, and I came across these beauty's I hadn't seen for a while     Absolutely recommended, tough to get for a decent price, but they are such an interesting read with lots of very interesting little stories! Still looking for at least 1900, 1904 and 1906, but not really in the right moment to spend money on that now, so the wait goes on
    • Which I guess is part of why unfortunately 'our' first wild card attempt of the season was rejected last week
