No, they specifically said the decision will not affect the 2020YOG because of how close the decision was to the event. Plus, if any YOG had ever been caught doping, I’d just be sad.

Assuming you mean YOG athlete, hello tears.

Well, weightlifting is kind of a different doping category, isn't it? Like the "HC" mountain at TdF.

I like that the IWF actually decided to take it seriously. Their model should be the model everyone follows.

This sadly confirms the information I found last week :(https://www.olympicchannel.com/events/detail/lausanne-2020-youth-olympic-games/schedule/

I did send the OBS an email to see if they’d give me some answers to questions we came up with, I’ll post the answer if I get one.

    • @hckošice, even though Tomankova lost, she had a good fight against Costa, I think soon she and Babulfath will be the stars of -48kg.

    • Yeah, we have such a strong crop of Juniors, that we can’t take them all. They all have exciting trajectories but to predict what Junior swimmers will is always difficult. Better to let them all swim together at Juniors than rocketing them all up to seniors and swimming a prelim and going home.
    • Hanlon is the most unlucky, in my opinion. Aside from relay cover, she's the 50m champ and they made a point of including consideration for those events being in LA for the other discretionary picks. Essentially she has the same case for selection as Max Morgan (albeit without the trajectory right now).   Blocksidge's form was way off this week (compared to her previous bests). Obviously being still young you could put that down to relative inexperience. Still, she has World and European Juniors that she could still be selected for this summer. There's an argument that performing well at those might be as beneficial as going to Singapore.   That said, I'm happy that they did take a bunch of discretionary picks. That's not always been the case.
