has won a bronze medal in women's team epee? Well, our fencing had gone downhill in the last decade, we can only hope for some random one-off in team events these days

 

Angelika Wątor (sabre) is basically retired after a breast cancer therapy and she was like a minor hope we could be relevant in the individual competition again. Not to be.

I think you get 6 quotas by default, which means that you have to qualify at least 4 teams at the qualification events to have 6 teams in Paris. Seems very much plausible now that Russia is out of the picture.

the men's saber and the women's epee is still weak and it lasts ... russia will not be at the olympic games?

in the team events, it's basically sure...

 

maybe they'll get a chance of a few individual spots as neutral athletes, if the war ends and the global sanctions are stopped...
