Ester Ledecká, you know the czech snowboarding alpine skier, started to focus a bit more on windsurfing and according to some rumours she is doing pretty well.

She’s going to singlehandedly beat Micheal Phelps medal record, but by doing it in both Summer and Winter Games, in 10 sports.

Mihovil Fantela suffered a freak injury while training for Nations Gold Cup. Apparently he fell on a rudder, and stabbed his spleen in the process.

Nations Gold Cup is scheduled to start in 2021, and it's supposed to be some sailing version of FIFA World Cup. Sounds pretentious.  Anyway, Fantela brothers will not be able to defend their 49er title in November. Their Olympic preparations suffer a huge blow too, as Mihovil will need months to recover.

Sounds like an enormous price to pay for freaking "Nations Gold Cup".

Rsx has been replaced by iFoil for Paris 2024. It's the same class (windsurf) just a different sail provider (you know, technology changes, just like when Mistral was abandoned after 2004).

Other changes:

-as you may already know Finn is out and will be replaced by a new mixed class (still TBD).

-470 Men and women are combined as mixed to make room for a mixed kitesurf event.

-Everything else (lasers, 49ers, nacra) stays the same.

Ah come on, the 470 is one of the most universal classes, would did they have to kill it.

I really feel like adding Kitesurfing is a huge mistake.

Yes, totally agree with that. It should just stay in the World Beach Games. As I’ve said before, I’m all about that Mixed Offshore event though.

iFoil does seem to be pretty different than RS:X, mostly because it has sort of a 'wing' inside the water that keeps the board above the water at high speeds (which are significantly higher than in RS:X). Dorian van Rijsselberghe has been pushing it hard apparently :p
