My brain just had a sudden thought, so now I must ask. What happened to Maren Hammerschmidt this season? Is she out with an injury?

I asked the same a few weeks back and it turns out she's recovering from an ankle surgery.

 

Hauser with a fall and Austria DNF (no spare rifle at this level?).

Hammerschmidt is still recovering from an ankle injury. She was operated back in October. She is now back in the gym, but there is still a bit to go before she is back in the World Cup. She could miss the whole WC season.
