Yeah I remember there was a boycott and a big fight within Iranian weightlifting, but I thought Moradi was on the same side as Salimi and Rostami (?) who I believe you once told are kinda arrogant pieces of trash, hence my question :p

Well Moradi actually being a nice guy doesn't make this easier  Alright, hoping for an awesome fight then :d

he never took side, his attitude was like "whoever is the coach that's not my business I go train with him" and he wasn't a big name at the time, actually out of our 6 weightlifters in London 2012 he was the only one didn't win a medal. actually he bombed out in a humiliating way.

Who should I be cheering for, Tian Tao or Moradi? Moradi has clear penalty points for being a convicted doper and another penalty point for being unfairly treated (in a good way for him) by the IWF president, so the decision will have to be made based on their personality.

@MHSN Is Moradi a decent guy worth cheering for?

@Function CR Lee Same question about Tian Tao :d

I think Moradi is stronger than Tian Tao,but I’ll still cheer for Tian.

what a mistake by Russian coaches, they forgot to change the weight and Klimonov had to come and lift only 1kg more than his 2nd attempt ! :d I remember such thing happened once for Oleg Chen.

Probably, but I want to know if Tian is a 'nice' guy :p I prefer cheering for nice people instead of for the flag next to their name, which means much less :p  (case in point: Dutch athlete Dafne Schippers, who is/was world class but comes across as such a huge negative personality there's no way I want to cheer for her)

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
