I'm aghast about this. And I don't know if our government does this in spite of realizing how close we actually are to Russia or because of this.

They’ve been bribed or blackmailed.  Putin knows what they all did back in the :GDR days, both sides of the Wall.  Schröder should have been flung in jail for life. The fact that he wasn’t convinces me many others are on the golden ruble.  Plenty of ours too, btw, it’s not just Germany.

Thanks for all support , but ......

Вut other countries are not doing anything for Ukraine. Only words, only verbal support. Few countries are in favor of imposing sanctions

I wish you, your family and your country the best of luck. I know how it feels to live in a situation like that.

I just hope this madness, this meaningless war ends soon. :pope: with as less causality as possible

God knows what NATO does when Russia invades the Baltic states. You know it will be Putin's next target. And Poland right after that.

Call it fair, call it unfair, but the Baltic states are NATO members, unlike Ukraine, and so an attack on them will without a doubt be treated differently. Without adding an opinion to that, that's simply how it is.

If they were not NATO members, Putin would have long ago gotten them..

I'm not so sure about it. Of course NATO can send some troops to Baltic states but might concede this a lost battle for the sake of economical safety & pressure from global banks (as it always is). The best thing for Poland is that Putin will undoubtedly go after Baltic states first since there are enough ethnic Russians living there he can sell the old crap of "peace-keeping the Russian-speaking minority". That excuse will never fly with Poland. Western Belarus is no longer within Polish borders like it was in 1939.

There's absolutely no way they would let Putin take the Baltic states, that would be the end of both NATO and EU. The reason why this is happening to Ukraine because they were alone in this as a "neutral" state, without any real allies. NATO exists because it guarantees the safety of all members, if that gets thrown under the bus, you might as well start learning Chinese and Russian.

Looks like :UKR took the Kyiv airport (Hostomel) back :yes

and one Russian military plane crashed even before entering Ukraine (must be some typical brilliant soviet technology)...

Back in the 1980s it was my theory that the West could swiftly defuse any Russian invasion just by leaving crates of vodka & porn by the side of the road.  Worth a try now.

Is it just me or does the scale of the invasion seem very small? I mean, for most of the day I just thought that we aren't getting information on what's happening, but maybe not much of actual significance happened besides the bombing? Either the Russian invasion is somehow failing or Putin wasn't lying when he called it a "special military operation" and this isn't a full scale invasion for now.

A few weeks ago she got 7.38 to equal Katerina Thanou's U20NR but now she beat her and she's only 16.

    • I don't know where the correct place to post this news is, but the Alexandri sisters announced yesterday they will leave  and start competing for  again    Our aquatics federation and Olympic committee were in talks with them for a while apparently, and they say they want to end their careers where they started and represent Greece in Los Angeles.   For those that don't know, they left Greece in 2012 for Austria at the age of 15 because they were cut from our national teams. It was their only way to continue in the sport despite not having any prior connections to Austria. They competed in Rio, Tokyo, and Paris where they placed 4th in the duet (our Greek duet finished 6th). They won many World and European medals for Austria and improved year after year and unexpectedly ended up surpassing all of the Greek girls that were previously seen as more promising by our federation and originally replaced them in our national teams. The girls thanked Austria for the support and opportunities and Austria also seems very supportive of their decision to go back to Greece.
