I can't understand why they didn't put Holub in there instead?

Maybe it's try-outs for relay? She didn't have good performance in mixed so maybe it was her last chance?

But Holub didn't make the individual cut so what's the point to run Kielbasinska in all three events? Holub being fresh for the 4x400 doesn't cut the mustard IMO. Run Holub in both relays and save Kielbasinska for individua & the women's relay.

what a finish from Lada Vondrova

Man, she's got it. Just half a sec from her PB. If she makes a better start than today in SF, she might attack OQT!!

As I said maybe it was test for Kielbasinka. Swiety, Baugmart and Holub are in relay for 100%. Maybe Matusinski is thinking who should be the 4th Kielbasinska or Wyciszkiewicz (probably not Gaworska) and he give Kielbasinska chance for prove herself after weaker start at mixed. I think she wasted it.

Viljoen out.

All 3 Czechs in final. :CZE the land of javelin :cheer:

This is super damn cool achievement. I truly believe that Ogrodníková a Špotáková will be in Tokyo. But final of WCH for Šedivá? Only 40cm behind her PB? Well, this might be big amount of points for her to the World ranking and I believe we will have 3 female javelin throwers in Tokyo. And if Frydrych works with his head, we might have also 3 male javelin throwers ..... Jan Železný and people around him have been doing unbelievable job for Czech javelin.

Wyciszkiewicz & Gaworska might run the 4x400 heats. Hell, they should have run either of them in the mixed relay heats and keep Kielbasinska out. I feel like she's been compromised for the women's relay now. No way either Wyciszkiewicz & Gaworska run the women's relay final IMO. They will put Kielbasinska in there and this could be a struggle.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
