FIFA does everything to make Sweden not win.

1. Played their 16 round match one day later than Japan.

2. Still it was Sweden that needed to travel to an another place for the match against Japan.

3. Japan got a penalty that not was a penalty.

4. 11 minutes added to the second half. To give Japan a chance to make 2-2 perhaps ?

Or to not play against a team that you lost 0-4 to make you think it will be easier? That is probably the worst thing to think before a game.

If they think it will be a walk in the park against a very solid Swedish team that should have won the Olympics, then surely Spain will be out just like Japan did. Sweden are doing a good job at tournaments for eight years straight.

@heywoodu@LDOGThe situation has happened with one host tournaments and fewer teams as well, most notably during 1994 World Cup when Brazil & Sweden played in group stage and later the semi-finals.

Oh come on :p

Especially points 1 and 2 are very obviously not planned for a Japan vs Sweden match  (and 10+ minutes is, luckily, not that rare anymore nowadays, if play is stopped, that time should be added later)

Point 3 is right though. I mean, obviously not in a 'FIFA tries to screw Sweden!' conspiracy kind of sense, but no idea why we have a VAR nowadays when a Japanese player simply stumbling on her own - that can happen, but is not a foul of course - still results in a penalty.

That was a hell of Crazy Penalties , Australia won at the end qualify for Semis , the most funny thing is the French player that missed twice :d

So Durand only saved 2 Penalties out of 10 , doesn't look like a penalties' expertise to be entered in the dying minutes of ET 2 , there's only 1 Tim Krul
