We also know Venus Williams is struggling with a serious illness.

I am worried about the number of TUEs given to Serena Williams for painkillers.

The IWF reports that as a consequence of the IOC’s reanalyses of samples from the 2012 London Olympic Games, the samples of the following Athletes have returned Adverse Analytical Findings:

• CIRICU, Anatoli (MDA) – Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (S1.1 Anabolic agents)

In line with the relevant rules and regulations, the IWF imposed mandatory provisional suspensions upon the Athletes, who remain provisionally suspended in view of potential anti-doping rule violations until their cases are closed.

Following the IOC’s decisions, the IWF will be in a position to take over the results management of these cases.

Should it be determined in any of the cases that no anti-doping violation was committed, the relevant decision shall also be published.

The IWF will not make any further comments on the cases until they are closed.

Maria ABAKUMOVA, 30, of the Russian Federation, competing in athletics (javelin throw event), has been disqualified from the Olympic Games Beijing 2008, in which she ranked 2nd and was awarded the silver medal. Re-analysis of Abakumova’s samples from Beijing 2008 resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (turinabol). 

 

Inga ABITOVA, 34, of the Russian Federation, competing in athletics (10,000m), has been disqualified from the Olympic Games Beijing 2008, in which she ranked 6th and for which she was awarded an Olympic diploma.  Re-analysis of Abitova’s samples from Beijing 2008 resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (turinabol). 

 

Denis ALEXEEV, 28, of the Russian Federation, competing in athletics (400m event round 1), has been disqualified from the Olympic Games Beijing 2008, in which he ranked 23rd.  Re-analysis of Alexeev’s samples from Beijing 2008 resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (turinabol). 

The Russian 4x400m men’s relay team is disqualified from the events in which the Athlete participated upon the occasion of the Olympic Games Beijing 2008, namely the 4x400m event in which the relay team ranked 3rd and was awarded the bronze medal.

 

Ekaterina GNIDENKO, 23, of the Russian Federation, competing in cycling (track Keirin event), has been disqualified from the Olympic Games London 2012 in which she ranked 8th and for which she was awarded a diploma. Re-analysis of Gnidenko’s samples from Beijing 2008 resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (turinabol).

So Moldova loses all medals from London 2012 (just like in Rio). They have a big problem with doping.

If my calculations are correct then Zielinski of Poland, recently suspended for doping, will win the bronze medal from 2012 despite finishing in 9th.

9 of the top 11 finishers in that event have either served a doping ban or being investigated for doping.

so this is possible to give the gold medal to Saeid Mohammadpour who finished 5th in London, still not a sure thing, maybe they just leave the medals blank but if they want to give them to the next athlete, Mohammadpour will win the gold, and I think he deserved it, with that record he could win the silver this year only 1kg behind gold medal winner Moradi.

The most likely result is that Mohammadpour  will be awarded gold, the Korean will get silver but because Zielinski is under suspension they may leave the bronze medal position vacant..

That is my guess based on previous decisions.

Here, we have a fancy paper signed by some one, so nothing to see there. Nothing "troubling" with so many top athletes living around with rare diseases and competing or training with legal doping products

TUE's granted by UCI have declined from 239 in 2009 to 13 in 2015. Which can only means two things.

- Up to 2009, we had a population of near-zombie ridding in pro cycling.

- TUE's were used do cover up doping cases.

 

I'd favor the second hypothesis. And what UCI has done, others might still doing it.

 

TUEs are a disgrace. At the very least, sport people shouldn' be able to compete using them, and there sloud not be no retroactive case in any circonstance. At best, they should be eradicated.
