Week 2 Prediction Design for the UCI Vuelta a España Prediction Contest is now available here

To all contestants, you have until the start of Stage 7, October 27th, 13:25 (GMT +1) to make your Stage predictions for Week 2 and edit your Classification predictions.

Remember, you don't have to make new Classification predictions if you want to keep the same predictions as Week 1.

If you make/change your Classification predictions, it will affect your possible score from these.

A suprising and exciting Giro d'Italia overcame difficulties such as positive COVID-19-tests among riders, whole teams withdrawing, rider protests and difficult weather conditions. But in the end, they reached Milano to complete the 103rd edition of this traditional Grand Tour.

The last day in these cycling prediction contest can shake up the podium with the many points coming from the classification predictions. And once again, there were some big changes due to these.

On the top of the podium came @Ufilov with solid stage predictions and a massive score from classification predictions, he secure a solid victory with 18 points down to the second-ranked predictor. It's his first gold medal of the year and he becomes the foruth Polish predictor to win a medal in 2020.  A huge congratulation to @Ufilov with the impressive win and gold medal. Congrats!:champion::bowdown:

A predictor who really benefited from his classification predictions was @George_D. Before the last day he was ranked 12th overall, but with scoring the second highest amount points from the classification predictions he jumped to 2nd place in the final standing. Scoring 100 points precisely he was only one of two predictors to achieve a triple-digit point total. Just like our first placed predictor he wins his first medal of the season and the first medal for Greece this year. @George_D has been close to win a medal this year, so a big congratulation with the silver medal in this contest.

In 3rd place we have a very familar face in these prediction contests. @africaboy once again showed his great prediction skills as he secured yet another medal. He was placed 1st before the last day. But with less succes in the classification predictions than his two co-predictiors mentioned above, he was in the end placed 3rd in the final standing. It's his first bronze medal in 2020 and his fourth medal this year! He becomes the first predictor to achieve this in 2020!  With these last results he is really in contention to win the overall title as the best Totallympics predictor of 2020. Once again, a big congrats to you, @africaboy. Impressive!

With all the plaudits @africaboy received above it has to be mentioned that he was tied on points with the 4th-placed overall. @Agger scored some solid points from his classification predictions and ended up tied on points with the 3rd place. Unfortunately for him he lost due to the tie-break rules applied. Still, another good contest from him as he continues his successful 2020-season.

Only one point behind 3rd and 4th place was 5th-placed @ady48 who once again had a very good contest. After winning the last contest he probably had hoped to collect another medal. This was not the case this time but a 5th place overall once again shows his great prediction skills.:bowdown:

Last honourable mention goest to the current leader overall, @toulousain. After not achieving the best results in the last contests, he is now back in the top part of the standing in a prediction contest. A solid 6th place to him. Well done! :hatoff:

Lastly, big thank you to all the users who took part in this prediction contest. Vuelta a España has just completed their first week of cycling and well continue tomorrow, and hopefully the next two weeks, with many great battles between the riders. Hopefully the race will reach Madrid. But unfortunately nothing is certain in these times. It was the plan to have a prediction contest for the Women's Baseball World Cup here in November but WBSC has announced this tournament will be postponed to next year. However, on a more positive note UWW has announced its intention to hold its World Championships in December in Belgrade. It could possibly be a prediction contest running alongside the Women's European Handball Championship in December.

That's all from me, your prediction contest manager, Wumo. :)

Hey folks

I'm facing some issues with the internet today. I might not be able to do the updated standing before late today or tomorrow.

You are allowed to change your stage predictions from now and until the start of Stage 9, 13:25 (GMT +1)
