Sort of. They are designed to be separate levels of competition, however Pan American Games are the only place ever where they are combined (since 2015).

Tamara Salazar with a valid second C&J of 146kg secured the Bronze medal. Pity the last attempt 150 wasn´t successfull, denying her to have as the sole athlete the perfect display in the competition with all 6 valid attempts and gold.

With all you posts about  Ecuador, you might convince me to start supporting them in sports. 

Though,  Uruguay will always be my number 1 when it comes to South American countries I support.

Bronze age of Ecuador to be continued with Lisseth Ayoví securing medal in the +87kg weightlifting class. Very likely bronze. Sarah Robbles and Veronica Saladin both with far bigger C&J records

 

In other hand Julio Castillo just won his -91kg Boxing semifinal over and advanced to the Gold Medal Bout where he will face this friday no one else than the legendary Erislandy Savon.
