Yet Canada let her change nationality? Guess you had too many gold medals in winter sports to bother? :p

It’s a looong story as to how she went from Canada to USA.

After yesterday solid runs, Viki could not keep the pace in the 3rd heat. A top 15 would be a huge dream result, but yeah it is how it is. Looks, if no disaster in last heat it will still be a nice 17th place for the youngest starter.

The whole episode is complicated, contentious and it’s not clear we’ll ever know what really happened. But ultimately there was no way she would ever be willing to compere for Canada again.

Minor trolling by Polish ES commentator (he's usually a motor sport commentator): "Do you know what the letters SVK stand for?" "Slovakia!" :p

In case there was any doubt over who the best female bobsleigh pilot in the world is…

... this event didn't do anything to answer that question?

She might be a medal contender in 2026. At the 2020 youth olympics she won silver. Romania won gold, Germans placed 3rd and 4th, the best american placed 14th (more than 5 seconds behind the winner and only marginally ahead of the colombian bob*) and the best canadian placed 17th (out of 18 competitors and even behind the colombian bob).

* which is especially impressive when you know that there were only 2 runs

:ROU beats :GER in bobsleigh :yes

Germany has been late to the party. Not too surprising. I think they underestimate the stupidity of IOC to make this non-event part of the olympics. At most monobob competitions they can't even find 10 competitors (which isn't too surprising given that women's 2-man bob is already pretty uncompetitive).
