Not really, professional sports events are still allowed (without spectators, but that's no different than it already was).

The  Olympic trials will be held at the brand new “Centre de Glace” in Quebec City from December 27th to 31st. I believe this is the first time since 1984 that Calgary will not hold the Olympic trials.

I'm not @heywoodu, but I can answer this too. 

 

Professional sports can continue, but without spectators. So the trials will be held, just in an empty skating hall.

…and the  Olympic trials have been cancelled due to COVID. No word yet on the effect that will have on the team’s selection.

Patrick Roest skated a 3:35 on a 3.000m during a training competition in Heerenveen.

 

That looks like a world record to me, but I'm not sure.

Or both, he wasn't the only fast Jumbo (Femke Kok in the 500m was flying as well)
