Any of you think that any country will reject any spot on 500 and 1000m?

Some countries only have 1 skater who met the qualification time. So let's say :EST Marten Liiv or :GBR Cornelius Kersten gets injured/COVID or they decide to focus only on the 1.000m (unlikely), then there's no one from Estonia or GB who can replace him on the 500m. In that case, the quota will go to  :ESP Nil Llop.

On the 1.000m the same can happen with :BEL Mathias Vosté, :EST Marten Liiv, :GBR Cornelius Kersten or potentially someone from :KAZ.

I hope Nil Llop can get a chance…

In 2018. Norway gave up an event quota in the men's 500m and the quota from Russia were taken away because of the doping scandal. Four reserves replaced them. So keep your hopes up. :)

So it’s not possible that Nederlands may rejected any quita for example un 500 m?

Pretty sure if :NED did that they could only send 8 male skaters.

So what does this rule mean or what is it for if it is simply that they can use 9 skaters?

They can send a maximum of nine skaters, however to be able to send nine skaters an NOC has to enter the maximum number of athletes in every event.

    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
