I'm expecting a lot from Knotten tomorrow :NOR If she can somehow have one or two penalty loops they would be at least 3mins behind the leader hopefully some top nation. Then Eckhoff will ski fast but be on penalty loop at least once, Ida Lien maybe a few spare rounds and ideally 1 penalty loop with slow skiing hopefully then followed by Roiseland who will have too much to make up.. If things go according to this tomorrow we will have interesting race.

I'm more afraid of Lien than Knotten xD Knotten is actually a good shooter. With Eckhoff, I have the feeling that she will pull herself together tomorrow and stay without a penalty round. I trust Roeiseland with everything, even to catch up 30 seconds against Elvira.
For the German women, a lot will depend on the shooting times. Normally they shoot totally slow, but for a possible medal this could be decisive. From the results, 2nd place should actually be possible.
But I still bet on Sweden, Norway, Germany (because of Marte ).

Germany is winning too many golds in sliding sports, keep some for smaller nations

Sorry, without those medals Germany would be too low on the medal table, only in 15th place behind nations like Canada or Slovenia and only slightly ahead of Australia.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

What a joke, Germany will be in top 5 at worst and yeah those bronze medals no longer change your position now.

If Norway doesn't win gold, it won't be because of Knotten :p

Todorova brings :BUL in 4th place after 1st leg. Shame they will only go down from here.

How do the targets work?

In pursuit events, when leader is finished, all 5 targets are white, but when no 31 arrives there, it is all black. Also, the smaller black circle is not visible during standing shooting. How does this work? I can't imagine an organizer resetting boards after each shhoting

There are different lanes for both prone & standing shoots ;) The standing shoot targets are larger.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
