In Asia we have 6 quotas, it will be 6 Zones (in calendar I see 4 - South East Asia, South Asia, West Asia, Central Asia)

or they will use ranking for one or two quotas

for example Europe have tournament in Bosnia, and gave 5 places + 1 place is from ranking (closed 11 june / world ranking will close 18 june).

May

:NEP and :SRI should get the singles quota in Men and Women respectively in South Asia.

For us the fight for getting into Olympic team is heating up with 4 men and 5 women in fray for the 3 spots per gender. Men's No 1, Women's No 2 and No 6 look safe for now.

There should be an East Asian qualifier. As for the last quota, I think like Europe they are planning to allocated it towards the rankings, but they may host another tournament.

I cannot find any confirmation by this or countries eligible to fight in each zone.

6-12 May: Continental Olympic Qualification Tournaments (TBD)**  maybe it's a date for last known asian tournament?

Unless things have recently changed the groupings for each zone is as follows.

East Asia

:CHN:TPE:HKG:JPN:KOR:PRK:MGL

Southeast Asia

:BRU:CAM:INA:LAO:MAS:MYA:PHI:SGP:THA:VIE

South Asia

:BAN:BHU:IND:MDV:NEP:PAK:SRI

West Asia

:BRN:IRQ:JOR:KUW:LBN:OMA:PLE:QAT:KSA:SYR:YEM:UAE

Middle Asia

:AFG:IRI:KAZ:KGZ:TJK:TKM:UZB

Nations already qualified to the team event are not eligible for singles quotas. That means the women's East Asia quota is literally between North Korea and Mongolia while the men adds Hong Kong to the mix. Additionally, Thailand's women cannot compete nor can India in either gender.

Thank you what a great job!!! I am curious about Gerrasimienko, he is so high on ranking could not start and gave quota for second KAZ or IRI. Player must have ITTF ranking points to be there in your opinion?

No, athletes with no ranking can compete in the continental qualifiers.

This is how ATTU determines its 6th singles quota

Quote

1.3 Five (5)players per gender shall be qualified from these qualifications events.

1.4 One (1) more player per gender from Asia will be selected by ITTF World Ranking published on 11 June 2024(Week 24).

There is no obligation for the players to participate in the continental Singles Qualification tournament to be eligible for WR selection.

is it really necessary? the best Asian player in the ranking will qualify through the World Ranking quotas anyway.

btw it seems ITTF can never find the best possible format for the qualifiers. I hope they learn one day that they have to award the ranking quotas before the continental qualifiers. I totally understand they have problems with mixed doubles quotas, still they could find a way to deal with it.
