Trampoline Gymnastics Qualification to Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

We now have confirmation that the :RUS Trampoline Federation will not accept the IOC conditions and will miss Paris 2024.

Huge news. Hard to see this being a solo run given the political nature of Russia, so can presumably expect the other gymnasts, athletes, swimmers, cyclists, wrestlers, boxers, judoka, taekwondoka etc following suit?

I always thought it likely that Putin would ultimately tell Bach to shove his quotas but had thought he would time it to cause maximum embarrassment.

- 1* NOC already have an extra quota by 2023 world championships.

Yeah, the girl who got the quota for us at WC was Alice Gomes... but the best Brazilian on this ranking is Camila Gomes

But 2º quota only if you are top 3

    • It's waaaay too expensive & inconvenient. Basically WOG minus the bobsleigh track & indoor arena for figure skating/hockey(which is the easy part of Olympic bid). Just won't happen anytime soon. Winter sports are too facility dependant and the entire alpine skiing requires a separate venue.
    • The ISU is looking into a combined World Championships for its 4 disciplines.   The FIS tried this and it appears the progress there has stalled.

    • Also a first: never before has a Dutch pair participated in the games, according to media rapports.
    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
