The coach thought he was confirming participation. Consequently, the reserve gymnasts were inserted in his place. RUS became aware of the mistake when they realized, that the start lists did not include their gymnast’s name. This morning the FIG, with approval from the IOC, has decided not to punish the gymnast because of an administrative error of his coach and to re-admit Sergei NAIDIN to the finals of the Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Parallel Bars, and Horizontal Bar for which he had originally qualified and to exceptionally run these four finals with 9 athletes instead of 8.
