Russian Ice Hockey federation want "Katyusha" to be played instead of the national anthem after wins at the world championships wrote Championat.com citing sources from the Russian Ice Hockey federation. The official even added : "Katyusha will be Russian anthem,The details how it will exactly looks will be clarified later." Remember at the IIHF WCh events the national anthem is played only after the end of the match and only for the winner of the game. The site also claims Russians are also considering to ask the IOC to have Katyusha played instead of the Russian national anthem in Tokyo and Beijing during the upcoming Summer and Winter Olympic Games medal ceremonies after eventual gold medals of Russian athletes.
