  1. There’s none . It’s the forum’s version of the Eurovision Song Contest. We have 2 every year. One for songs from the past year, and one (like this current one) for songs five years old and older. I just gives us all something to do in the off seasons . has been absent for a while now. It would be nice to the return of
  2. Lol ?. I just heard news that Russians and Canadians are losing ice Hockey golds to the US left and right now that we’re allowed to inflate totals against our rivals. and actually have zero Olympic medals now JK. Seriously, the fact we still have these petty problems is ridiculous.
  3. @OlympicIRL I don’t know what kind of English lessons thus have in Ireland because this ain’t it chief:
  4. The Olympics would be 3,000 times better if this guy commentated (or at least did the 5 minute event highlights)
  5. Yes very interesting results. I will say that my least favorite period, is the USA gymnastics selection event every Olympic year. The drama is way too much, the commentary sucks, etc. Just choose a team and get on with it! Also don’t let someone finish 3rd or 4th and then not select them!
  6. I explained why this one made sense earlier. Street skating, Parkour, and Breaking are arguably the most urban sports in existence. When the games were were supposed to be held in San Diego it made sense to include Park skating. First and foremost because the World Urban Games didn’t exist yet. Second because in California, Park Skating is highly associated with beaches. The most iconic skatepark in the world is at Venice Beach. So it made sense for skating to be included. Hopefully that answers your question. As for Boulder, I’m pretty sure someone got drunk or hit their head after a good day of climbing and some how came to the conclusion that it’s a beach sport.
  7. Good Riddance! Hopefully this actually brings the change people want to see. It would be the first time the center-left has had control of Israeli politics in a long time.
  8. No, there is not. I do believe the IAAF has a women’s world championships. There’s just an “American Football” thread for the two.
  9. Parkour is most certainly not a beach sport. Parkour is one of the only legitimately urban sports out there.
  10. 20 Days To Go!
  11. Rhythmic Gymnastics Quotas:
  12. Caro is the biggest surprise of the event! Never expected him to make the final.
  13. Spain will be Spain. I’d be okay with countries not giving him a visa.
  14. Yes that’s right! I forgot about that scandal. Shame on
  15. Athletes, who aren’t terrorists or have major criminal records, should always be allowed into a country for a major international event. I totally agree.
  16. Which is odd coming from . I don’t know they were a country that would do that. They hosts events without problems all the time. I’ll have to follow this story.
  17. Well they were only like 3rd-4th place at the European Championships I believe. They also won the 2nd tier championships just to get to those ones.
  18. Well most Jewish people have some understanding and knowledge of Hebrew because they have to if they read the Torah. For those that don’t, like many Ukrainian Jews, Israel offers lessons on Israeli history, culture, and language in Ukraine before those people choose to immigrate. Vice News did a great 3-5 part series on the process that can be found on YouYube.
  19. Well, Israel has made it easy for people to dislike them. Just to be clear on my position, I hate the Israeli right-wing government, not the people themselves. I have no problem with naturalized athletes competing for other countries. My only problem is rich countries buying off talent for poorer countries. Otherwise there’s not much you can do. Plus, many people, like @heywoodu I believe, like individual athletes and not the flag they fly. I’ll admit that I mostly cheer for certain countries over athletes, but generally I support individual athletes too. These guys had a dream to go to the Olympics and they succeeded against what at first were thought to be better teams. I’m very happy for them.
  20. No, because your ethnicity isn’t historically Jewish. You can’t hate a country for having near open borders like Israel. That’s something they’ve done that I actually like. Though I imagine it still wouldn’t be too hard to be granted citizenship...
  21. Trump spent the morning attacking Joe Biden’s dead son . I’m not saying that his son’s actions shouldn’t be questioned if they were illegal. I just think it’s something that no one wants to see. I mean this isn’t even a story because of the 3 million other shity things that happen in my country daily nowadays. It’s all in response to a bombshell report by multiple respectable news outlets that Trump asked Ukraine to spy on and dig up dirt on Joe Biden or he’d cut off US aid to Ukraine (which if actually proven could realistically get him impeached (It won’t, but I like the thought))
  22. @Jan Linha any chance for participation?
  23. Also, @Belle. Maybe will participate this year?
  24. Don’t forget @Ustatsch! I’d be cool to see in a TISC.
  25. If you’re Jewish you’re automatically an Israeli citizen (you still have to apply to become one obviously). To be fair to Israel, they only have like 2 generations of natural born citizens. Plus, Haredi aren’t going to fill the ranks of national sports teams. I too found it hard to be excited for , but in end I’ll be happy for those guys who made their dream happen.
