  1. The fact that white male candidates are the only ones with huge majorities against Trump is just embarrassing. It also shows that the GOP may not be the only ones with gender/race issues... I’d prefer Sanders over Biden. I prefer Harris, Warren, or Castro over Sanders. At least Sanders matches me politically. Plus, the election hasn’t gotten too ugly yet, so that’s positive. Definitely looking forward to the first single night debate.
  2. Well the NCAA makes a lot of money off using their names on merchandise. The argument is that these athletes are destroying themselves for an education and the least we could do is pay them too. I very conflicted by it, but I’m not a fan of the NCAA. If this law forces California schools to create a rival league, I’ll support it.
  3. I quite liked the dios de Los muertos/ Sugar Scull look from the last Winter Olympics. That one might be my favorite skin suit of all time.
  4. I quite liked it. At least their politicians are still people to a degree. It’s also a nice show of solidarity with their supporters who mostly voted against Brexit.
  5. Yes, it can be confusing, but the color coding helps. The main problem with all those different routes set on the same top rope is that reading the route can become really tricky. That’s generally my biggest problem along with an overall lack of strength because I just haven’t pushed myself enough. My gym is more about the boulders anyway, which is a shame because I like route climbing a lot more.
  6. I’ve been getting better about going to the climbing at least once a week, and I’m really hoping to see some improvement in my Climbing. Yesterday I topped a very 5.9 (maybe 5.9+), which is around a low intermediate difficulty on the Yosemite Climbing scale (different gyms/states/regions/countries use different scales). It actually was a pretty terrible night of climbing for me, but that was the route I most wanted to top, so oh well. Here’s a picture of the route (it’s the white holds): Green is the hand start hold, blue dots mark all valid holds, Red is the top hold
  7. One of the road cyclists made this very well done highlight real of the race. He should honestly look for a career in broadcasting.
  8. @Dragon Is there any chance Scotland or Wales leave Great Britain if Brexit really happens, especially a no-deal Brexit?Their representatives seem to mostly be pro-EU. Also the Gaelic and Welsh songs sung in Parliament after the black rod business, seems to make it look as though the United Kingdom may not be that United.
  9. No one water skis or wakeboards on the sea. Most countries use rowing or canoeing venues for training. Recently because of new cable technology, there’s been a lot of Wakeboard Park contests in small waterways or lakes within cities.
  10. Well in California, Skateboarding is inherently part of the Beach culture around here. Our most famous skate parks are all at or near the beaches. I think it made a bit more sense when the games were in San Diego. In 2021, I hope Skateboard, Water Ski/Wakeboard, and Sport Climbing are moved to the World Urban Games.
  11. I love the amount of effort Asian countries have been putting into hosting events. During the Winter Olympics, Korea had their students do a bunch of traditional things for other countries too:
  12. They are some odd ones, true. My personal favorite is that, by law, you cannot own or process more than six (6) dildos in Texas. In fact when Texas recently allowed for people to openly carry guns on university campuses, the students held a protest called “Cocks Not Glocks” where they handed out 6,000 dildos and “open carried” them around campus as their defense weapon of choice
  13. It should be, but alas it is in these games instead.
  14. Yes, which is why I’m a bit conflicted on the issue. The NCAA has run university sports like a monopoly, and they make millions, if not billions, or dollars a year off the athletes merchandise. I believe the bill makes universities give athletes money to use their names on t-shirts, jerseys, etc.
  15. Many NCAA athletes do get financial aid. The bill in California states that must be paid on top of that.
  16. @bmo being the College Football expert you are, Do you have an opinion in the “Should college athletes by paid” debate?
  17. California has just become the first state to pass a bill mandating that university level athletes be paid their fair share. Earlier this year, the NCAA threatened to kick out all California universities. There’s a few ways this goes down, but I’m going to grab some popcorn and enjoy the fireworks.
  18. In all honesty I wouldn’t be that disappointed with the Dutch team @heywoodu. The majority of qualification systems were rather good, but a few left quite a bit to be desired. This is a new event on the international calendar. It may take awhile for nations to start sending bigger teams. Plus, it’s not like the Netherlands are powerhouses in any of the sports besides sailing. If Candy Jacobs competes, you guys might just have a medal chance.
  19. Well we’re talking about real sports, so no.
  20. A then because European nations all have a bunch of never used, incredibly stupid laws; I crush the forum as well
  21. I quite like Matthew. I think it’s the perfect name for me. If had to be born with a different, Joshua (gross), wouldn’t be it. I having nothing against Joshua’s of the world. The name just isn’t a good fit for me. I could see myself as a Jack, Dylan, or Alexander, but not Josh. I would have most preferred Mathias over Matthew.
  22. Especially for a nation that after climate change will be one big beach
  23. Well Berlusconi wasn’t allowed to stay in power. Hopefully the spirit of the Arab spring stays alive in its birth place. I’d be par for course for another autocrat to rise up though. It would also follow the international trend of countries trying to screw themselves over that I mentioned earlier.
