  1. Yes, 2015 used ATOS (which is why they’re the only edition with PDFs available ). The ATOS system is definitely the better of the two. There can never be too many sports or events (though the organizers are testing that theory )
  2. Well from my time in Catholic school I can tell you that most Catholic institutions have very little in common with the teachings of Jesus. The only religion remotely close to them by my judgement are the Lutherans (Reformed/Modern).
  3. Polo begins today by the way. From what I’ve read the tournament is anyone’s to win.
  4. If it were Indonesia I would have suspected foul play, but I’d imagine this is just a sad mistake.
  5. Damn had a great men’s skater, but I fear he missed the age deadline. His sister could still be a medal threat. seems to have a grudge against speed skating. Very happy for because they were screwed out of that quota original (Swiss beat them on the host quota requirement).
  6. Go ahead and give our Twitter a follow if you haven’t already ?
  7. I’m going to deconstruct this one piece by piece The Quran, like The Bible features violent themes, and doesn’t have verses that can be interrupted in a a bad way. However the main teaching of Islam is to submit to Allah (God’s will). It’s the problem with Islam is the same as Christianity. People interpret the message of the Quran differently, and it unfortunately has been used for evil. I was taught this at a Catholic school mind you. I’d prefer 9/11 never happened. The same way I wish the Holocaust never happened. That the Crusades never happened. The the inquisition never happened. That the Central African Genocide never happened. Unfortunately they did, and we should learn from our mistakes, and teach our kids the correct forms of our religions. The people who drove planes into the Twin Towers weren’t Muslims. They were terrorists who’d been tricked, and fully believed in perverse teachings of something resembling Islam. Admittedly this may be partially true in some aspects. I’m not atheist for the record, I’m agnostic. I choose to believe what I want based off the religious texts I’ve read and my own morals. Please do not confuse me with extremists. Our religious beliefs are probably more similar than different. I do hate the way religion controls people, and while one side of me wishes I could do the same, the other side of me (the light-side, the rational side) wishes that people can choose for themselves what they believe, and that they be given free will to choose how to live so long as it doesn’t interfere with other people’s free will. I never said Islam is a book of perversion, and I’d never attack someone purely because of their faith. That war isn’t a war of religion either, so it wouldn’t matter much. Technically even if I was shot, beheaded, or otherwise “knocked off” I would live longer than 20 seconds if you take into consideration brain activity and heart beat. One of the perks of Catholic schooling is a religious education. I also have had the privilege of taking with Rabbis, Monks, and Preachers. There is no such thing as “real Islam” per say, but there are definitely things that aren’t Islam. There is no “real religion” either. Religion is a series of ideas we convince ourselves is true, in order to try and justify the morbid reality of mortality. Religion is often used as a construct by those in power to plant ideas in the lower class that make them less likely to rebel, question, or challenge their leadership. He was ultimately a hero and a savior so I’ll take this comparison as a compliment. His dark side took the best him for a while, and he lost his way, but ultimately his light side won out.
  8. I see we watch the same guy . The dude made great London 2012 videos, so I don’t mind . I would be nice to see a larger community, but the people playing the game do actually love the game.
  9. Right, as I said they could add more sports, but I do see more pros than cons with this game. It’s definitely the best attempt we’ve seen so far, and as I said it’s attracting streamers and the like.
  10. People who believe in the idea of a warlike jihad aren’t Muslims. They are terrorists. The Muslim religion should be one of peace, unfortunately modern leaders in that part of world have weaponized it as a political tool. Most Muslims I’ve meet don’t feel that way. Christians are just as mad. Different book, different guy, same perversion.
  11. It’s under the schedule tab (or at least it was). You can find it at that link too. Also welcome to forum! Always nice to gain a new member. By your username, I would imagine you’re very excited for these games
  12. Could be worse . I have a birthday near Halloween, so I’ll always be associated with pumpkins it seems (especially since I love pumpkin flavored things)
  13. I have to disagree with your assessment of Tokyo 2020. Your criticisms are valid, and I agree with them, but you fail to see the main purpose of an Olympics video game (or at least of this one). Yes, every country should be represented, and that’s a major oversight. More sports would have also been nice, but the sports we do have are quality. The controls are intuitive, and do simulate the actions of athletes better than the last games. While it would be nice to have an Olympics themed games where you can play every sport/event, that is a lot to ask of developers, designers, coders, and everyone else behind the scenes. Quite frankly it would take years, and many gamers still wouldn’t play it because it just doesn’t have the wow factor, and it’s not inline with gaming culture. I think Sega realizes this, and they took a realistic look at the this game. They made a game where, like the sims, you can be athlete (that’s pretty damn cool). They made game that has the most realistic controls possible for a video game. They made a game that actually requires you to practice to get better at it. It’s not a button masher, and the artistic design is arcade-like, but also vaguely realistic at the same time. I still haven’t gotten to the purpose of this game though. This game is a marketing tool for Japan, for Tokyo, and for Tokyo2020. It shows off the wonderful sights of Tokyo2020, and gets people seriously excited for the games. I watched gamers play it when it first came out, and many them legitimately wanted to attend the Tokyo2020 games, and many them never had an interest in the Olympics before. The game really captures the Olympic spirit well, and it’s a game I’ll be playing for a long time probably. It’s also a great game for the family, as it was advertised to be. Honestly, it’s probably the best Olympic themed game of all time. Mario and Sonic is shit. That’s all I have to say about that one. Vancouver and Rio were the best games in the franchise. I loved playing Vancouver especially. (I also loved playing the realistic London 2012 game. That game has a cult following in the gaming community) The mobile game looks very interesting as well. I actually have hopes for this one. Supposedly you can play online against people (so a Totallympics throw down may be coming ). There’s also a good selection of some different sports than the console game, so that’s nice.
  14. There’s a lot more at stake. It’s one thing to be a medalist, but many athletes are just happy to make it to the Olympics.
  15. Nobody Wins (as usual Harvard/Yale students using irony in a very clever way): Protests are definitely becoming more frequent in US sports. The athletes, and now the fans. From the NBA to the NFL to the NCAA. I fully expect to see podium protests from US athletes at Tokyo next year.
  16. Oh My God! I cannot put into words how amazing what I just saw was. If you can only see one movie this year, I wholeheartedly recommend “Won’t You Be My Neighbor”. Master fucking class in cinema. I know I’ve been highly critical of the movie industry this year, but that film saved the entire year for me. I rarely, and I mean rarely, give out a perfect score, but today is a historical day. “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” 10/10! The camera angles, shots, pans 10/10. The acting 15/10. Tom Hanks pulls off another amazing piece of art. Every other actor carries their weight too. The story itself 12/10. The writing 15/10. I have never wanted a movie to win best picture more. If this film isn’t nominated and given the honor it will be an outrage. The interesting thing is that it is the exact opposite of Joker. The Oscars could quite literally be a battle between the light-side and the dark-side this year. I seriously hope that all of you get the chance to watch the film. There’s much more I’d love to say, but spoiling it for y’all would be unfair.
  17. I think construction will be finished in time, but these are very worrying pictures a few days out from the games . I’m not sure as to the validity of reporting, but from my understanding Rappler is a good source. https://www.rappler.com/sports/specials/sea-games/245619-rizal-memorial-under-construction-before-2019
  18. The most disgusting thing about capitalized society . Plus, it really starts on Thanksgiving when companies like Walmart ask their employees to come in and work instead of spend time with their families
  19. Just found out Short Track is back on the program (or at least the results system says it is)
  20. Here’s the the ever-present scourge of multi-sports games; the less than ideal results system: https://rs.2019seagames.com/RS2019/GamesSchedule
  21. Poland’s program has been showing some real signs of improvement in the last three seasons. I think it might be a few years, but I can see them finding the podium if they continue to improve.
  22. New OS update allows zip files , and I can save other file types to IPad and convert them on there or elsewhere.
  23. Lorum Ipsum. Every journalist (or anyone that works with language and writing programs) is familiar with that phrase
  24. Ah yes, those are nice too
