  1. You know that was a hashtag started by the far-right after NASCAR came out in support of Bubba Wallace right? They flew a banner over the race with the Confederate flag on it with that hashtag.
  2. First off, there’s an active and large minority of non-European users on the forum. Second, the European Championships aren’t the most competitive continental championships across the board as @Vojthas pointed out. I do believe that there’s more European users on the forum, but the bias towards European events is annoying. I know I’m not the only person that has complained about this issue in this thread. Like I said, I’m fine doing one European Championship a year, but it seems fair to do a Asian, African, or Pan American Championship as well. One could argue that European users have an unfair advantage in European Championship prediction contests, since they have more likely than not followed those championships much longer, and more closely, than non-European users. Honestly, I just want a little more variety of these prediction contests. We seem to vote for and do the same events every year. It would be nice to throw in something like Floorball, Lacrosse, Women’s Baseball, Ultimate Frisbee, etc. every once in a while just to mix things up a little.
  3. The return to sports is going well . This isn’t a big deal yet, but it’s a worrying trend.
  4. Except that Wallace himself didn’t put it there, lie about it, and then try to cover it up. I think people will be happy with the response NASCAR took in the end. They made a very strong stand on what they see as the values of their sport, and they investigated the issue throughly.
  5. That’s terrible. I really expect better from HBO. I’ll have read into this further.
  6. Why do we always do European events? I don’t mind do one a year or something, but there are other continents besides Europe.
  7. I’d be so in for Women’s Baseball and Men’s Floorball
  8. Rare Shenzhen 2011 replay
  9. Happy Olympic Day everyone! Is anyone doing anything to make the occasion or celebrate?
  10. Very intriguing way to start the 2020 Marble League. Opening Ceremony wasn’t my favorite they’ve done, but no one's here to watch that anyways. I really enjoy the balancing event. I think it’s one of the better concepts they’ve come up with. What’s really interesting to me is the disparity between the scores of the qualification round and the main tournament. I have no clue what caused that be honest. Unfortunately, two of my least favorite teams are now leading the standings. Horrible day for most of the teams I support
  11. @Dragon knows more about Brundage then I do, but I know he was a well known anti-Semite. He also was the main reason the US attended the 1936 Olympics, even though many athletes, citizens, and leaders favored a boycott of the Games. I believe he also favored the participation of apartheid nations, and turned the Israeli Memorial Service in 1972 into a political spectacle of his own agenda. He is by far the worst IOC President in history. The IOC also tries to cover up his wrongdoings to save their image.
  12. Just catching up today. Savage Speeders had a fantastic performance in the qualifiers. Hopefully that translates to the main tournament. Orangers still have a lot of work to do it seems Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the teams that made the main tournament this year.
  13. Ooooooooooooooooo! I’ve always been an Orangers fan since I started watching. It’s been a rough few tournaments for us lately, so hopefully the Marble League where the team finds it mojo again. I used to despise the Savage Speeders, but now I support them as my second favorite team. They’ve been hot in the last few Marble Leagues, so they’ll be a threat for the title. I also support Mellow Yellow and Crazy Cats Eyes as well.
  14. Yeah, that ain’t the way to peace either. At least these haven’t been real people being lynched, but it definitely goes to show how divided this country is. I just hope things calm down instead of continuing to escalate at some point.
  15. Apple events are like a little wonderful Christmas for me iOS 14 seems pretty cool, but I probably won’t use any of the features advertised today. I always watch these and go “wow! That’s awesome! I can’t wait to try that.”, and then I never do
  16. NYPost is a tabloid. I think they generally report fact, but I’ll wait for some more trustworthy publications to report statistics before I come to any conclusions. Politicians can pour as much money into the police as they want, but I’m pretty sure we’ve showed them why that’s a bad idea. There are absolutely solutions that will make everyone safer and happier. The problem is that we’ve let the police become too strong, and that has led to the rise of polarization and extremism minorities and poorer communities. You also haven’t done much reading on this issue if you think education and healthcare wouldn’t help solve a lot of factors that cause crime.
  17. That’s a shame Anev was one of my favorite “middle of the pack” competitors. He always seemed like someone who could put together a top 10 finish on a good day, but he just never quite got there.
  18. Oh you’re right, we totally should have had a prediction contest on this.
