  1. Heavy looting has broken out in St. Paul (Minnesota capital) today. It looks pretty bad, and it will kill any further momentum on this issue I’m afraid. I want to see things burn, but this isn’t right. They are attacking random businesses and clearly not protesting the death of Mr. Floyd.
  2. Just finished eating a delicious bowl or olives @heywoodu I think you really would have enjoyed them since you love olives so much.
  3. So much for redesigned Zandvoort... It will be back obviously, but it sucks that we don’t get to see it this year.
  4. This does actually make sense under a social theory I came up with in my high school government class.
  5. Most police are right-wing, and some police departments have even become far-right breading grounds. That’s what happens when respect for those who uphold the law, turns into a divine right for justice for those serving the law. There are good police, but it seems like they are fewer and more silent nowadays.
  6. The government isn’t and hasn’t done shit for years though, so I feel like people have a right to be pissed. Like I said, it’s unfortunate they punished people not directly involved in this incident, but it’s even more unfortunate that terrible governance and racial violence led us here. Action needs to be taken, but we need to be smart about. We should be out in streets from 5AM-9PM protesting, but it would be helpful for the cause if people stopped burning building down and raiding Target.
  7. I think this actually is more of consequence of our broken economic system. It also gets politicians attention when nothing else does. It doesn’t make it right, but it does show anger people want to pretend doesn’t exist.
  8. They’ll probably be let off the hook. They always are. It doesn’t matter how much evidence we have, it’s never enough for a jury to punish a police officer. A majority believe that the protests are valid, but the riots and looting will turn some away for sure.
  9. There’s just no positive way forward. Personally, I’m not going to do a damn thing to stop anyone from protesting. I think bringing the National Guard is only going to exacerbate the problem. I’ll say that we shouldn’t run around looting and burning buildings.
  10. That was just day one as well. The state is going to bring the National Guard in, which could trigger race riots. We also saw tense protests in cities like Memphis and LA last night. People are upset.
  11. If they are officially referring to it as “internal affairs” shouldn’t Hong Kong lose it’s NOC like AHO?
  12. Okay, maybe not the best depiction of autism, but they explain that he has savant syndrome, so it’s actually a really good depiction of that at least. He still has social issues, which are a little over-the-too at times, but it doesn’t feel over super dramatic (for a medical show at least). If you have time, you should give it a watch to judge for yourself.
  13. Guess I was wrong One protestors injured. Police had one of their car windows smashed after and altercation.
  14. Birmingham 2022 Organizing Comittee will be livestreaming action from the past editions of the World Games every Wednesday (I’m not if that’s until July 2022, or until Covid-19 rolls over, or until the run out of footage).
  15. 2023 South American Beach Games were also awarded to Santa Marta, Colombia a while ago.
  16. Bolivarian Games have been moved from 2021 to 2022. They will be hosted by Colombia as well.
  17. I missed this a while back, but ODECABE announced the first edition of the Central American and Caribbean Beach Games. They’ll take place in Santa Marta, Colombia, which hosted the 2017 Bolivarian Games.
  18. Gotta love when all the big guys are shown up by the Cook Islands:
  19. In other less frustrating news, the U.S will no longer recognize Hong Kong as autonomous after PR China signs that controversial bill tomorrow. Plus, we’ll charge the First Lady of Venezuela with drug trafficking.
  20. I’m just can’t. For the record, they announced this while meeting through video conference since the risk of Covid-19 transmission was too high to meet in-person.
  21. Will Trump take action on Covid-19? No. Will Trump take action on school shootings? No. Will Trump take action the on healthcare system? No. Will Trump take action on police brutality? No. Will Trump sign a most likely partisan executive order that will attempt to kill free speech on social media, or the ability of social media to fact-check the words of government officials? Probably yes. I would imagine this will affect non-Americans to since Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. are all American companies.
  22. Hey, blog’s a blog. We all have to start somewhere. Totallympics Media wasn’t even a thing this time last year. Me and @Vojthas had just begun planning our first podcast episode around this time last year. Well in terms of American Football fans around here, you have @Monzanator and then @bmo (who runs a college football publication I believe). Myself and bmo are both Lions fans. I can’t remember who Monzanator cheers for.
  23. I was watching an Achievement Hunter stream, and Dante Bosco (Prince Zuko voice actor) joined them for a game of “Overcooked”, and it was really weird hearing Prince Zuko talk about cracking oysters and preparing pasta
  24. No, if you didn’t wake up at 1AM for the heats, then you’re here for the wrong reasons.
  25. Are you calling Totallympics Media crappy? Where’s that “how dare you button” when I actually need it. We’re already acquainted from Twitter by the way. We’ve had some really fun discussions about international sports, and (more importantly for @bmo) American Football.
