  1. Some more info on livestreaming: https://www.theworldgames.org/news/The-World-Games-2022-32/Olympics-com-streams-The-World-Games-2022-2293 @heywoodu @Grassmarket
  2. claims the last gold medal of the athletics program (men’s 4x400m), and the crowd is going nuts. What a moment for the host nation.
  3. Even the organizers are caught off guard by their success, playing the wrong anthem during the men’s discus medal ceremony Mistake was corrected and apology issued before the correct anthem was played. At least he still got his moment.
  4. has now won three gold medals in the last hour. Super Sunday for them
  5. Antoniou takes gold in women’s 100m freestyle Quite the podium . Definitely one you don’t see often in international swimming.
  6. goes 1,2 in men’s 800m. Proceed to carry a flag around the track…
  7. Hemida completes the 100m/200m double
  8. Boudiaf takes gold in the women’s sabre. I need to check the rankings, but I’d imagine this is a bit of an upset.
  9. Final being shown live here: https://arryadia.snrt.ma Final round is about to get underway I believe.
  10. I don’t really know about on-demand availability yet, but it’s been confirmed the 24/7 livestream will be back on the Olympic Channel. I think they also intend to have some individual feeds of different events during the Games. I’ve also read that a few IFs may broadcast early rounds of their competitions online, but that’s about the extent of my knowledge at this point.
  11. Guarischi won the women’s road race, which came down to an uphill group sprint. has never lost the women’s road race at the Mediterranean Games. Christoforou finished 4th
  12. That’s a shame. I’ve really been enjoying this event, but it is hard to find coverage. I believe you can find the daily highlights package on YouTube if it’s any help.
  13. Can runs a similar race to Gega. Takes the lead early in the 5000m and wins the race with a handy margin. I think it’s a smart strategy if you’re confident your best is a comfortable amount above everyone else’s.
  14. No medal for him there. He had a nice showing in the 1500m tonight, but no medal there either.
  15. Absolute chaos in weightlifting. Qerimaj given a no lift on his final attempt (he had failed his two previous), which looked technically acceptable to me. He begins to celebrate before it’s ruled a no lift. He and the Albanian team then go nuts when it’s ruled a no lift. The jury intervenes, but as they’re deliberating the Albanian team surrounds the table and begins arguing with them. Qerimaj is waltzing around the platform pissed. Eventually the call is overturned, giving him a good lift and the lead. He then celebrates more before being escorted off the platform. I’m not sure if situations like this help improve the credibility of the sport, but it was certainly something to watch. Anyway, Zanni wins the gold medal in snatch on his final lift
  16. I’m surprised they didn’t cancel the women’s 4x100m with only three teams contesting the event. Most of these multi-sport games have a rule that a minimum number of countries need to contest an event for it to be held. My guess would be there was originally enough entries, but that there must have been a few last minute scratches…
  17. A couple of crashes at the Tour today, but it’s hard to beat this one from Giro Donne.
  18. Gega obliterates the competition in the women’s steeplechase. She had a significantly better PB, so not shocking, but still impressive. Edit: Oh, I think she may have even improved her own PB.
  19. Tradition at the Mediterranean Games. What’s weird is they still don’t award any for the overall total
  20. This may be some of the worst archery coverage I’ve seen. The EBU didn’t quite plan this one right.
  21. Carnicelli finishes in what would have been 9th place out of the twelve athletes who completed the race. As promised, I did some digging and managed to interview the head of their delegation in Oran. Here’s a link to that article: https://www.infobae.com/aroundtherings/articles/2022/07/01/vatican-city-primed-for-debut-at-mediterranean-games/
  22. won a gold medal in boxing, so just left without a gold medal.
  23. Quite the scene as takes the first track gold of the Games.
  24. gets its first ever gold medal at the Mediterranean Games!!! Xiaoxin Yang wins the women’s singles event in table tennis. What a Games for the small states! now the only eligible country without a medal at the Mediterranean Games.
  25. 6 attempts. Field is cut to 8 after third attempt.
