Ufficiale: la pista pattinaggio veloce sarà ricavata all’interno del polo espositivo di Fieramilano a Rho, unificando i padiglioni 13 e 15 in un unico spazio per un totale di oltre 35mila metri quadrati di superficie coperta. La pista sarà lunga 400 metri e avrà una tribuna da circa 6.500 posti a sedere con visibilità totale del circuito, oltre a una pista lunga di allenamento, spogliatoi e ulteriori strutture necessarie all’organizzazione come un impianto di condizionamento e regolazione dell’umidità in grado di garantire le più idonee condizioni di mantenimento delle superfici ghiacciate secondo i requisiti della Federazione internazionale di pattinaggio (30-40 % umidità e 15 gradi centigradi a livello ghiaccio). I padiglioni sono già dotati di servizi a supporto delle manifestazioni quali biglietteria, sale riunioni, bar, ristorante self-service. Il padiglione 24 sarà dedicato alla realizzazione di un media center e ad ambienti di supporto all’evento. A disposizione dell’impianto circa 6mila posti auto per il pubblico e 1.500 per staff e personale di servizio, oltre alla dotazione infrastrutturale pubblica come metropolitana e servizio ferroviario. I padiglioni adattati, una volta conclusi i Giochi, saranno destinati a nuove iniziative ed eventi per il grande pubblico.
