  1. Yes, that's another thing I've noticed about these Championships. Those with a big lead crumble and let their opponents come back again. A 7-1 should really be converted into a victory but what does "should" mean in the world of sports.
  2. Yeah, none other than Judd Trump, second-ranked player in the world. His high standard of offensive play got him there but he was injured so couldn't play his full potential. He isn't liked by everybody but I like him.
  3. Very uninteresting WC so far. Not a good haul on centuries for now, Trump gone already and players gifting victories to Ronnie.
  4. 2008 Olympic Silver medalist Germaine Mason died in a motorbike accident.
  5. Of course working out doesn't have anything to do with the games themselves. It's for fitness and building stamina. Most E-sports have been "Open Class" but yeah, men clearly have the upper hand when it comes to professional playing.
  6. There's a difference between a "nerd" and a professional. Many professional gamers do workouts and prepare in a gym for fitness and stamina at this point.
  7. Maybe people will have to reconsider their definition of sport. When does something become a sport? In my opinion if you do it competitively, on the highest level. That's just what it is. In contrast to East Asia and North America though, Europe is still a bit conservative when it comes to gaming.
  8. But rifle and shot gun are okay?
  9. Don't forget E-sports has become a big, money-making market at this point.
  10. I wouldn't be happy either. There's no consistency. Why not make 75 classes, each a kg difference from 55kg to 130kg.
  11. Barshim cleared 2,43m before. I suppose you were looking at CR but it means Championship Record.
  12. 2017 Snooker World Championship Main Draw [1] Mark Selby ENG - IRL Fergal O'Brien [16] Ryan Day WAL - CHN Xiao Guodong | [9] Neil Robertson AUS - THA Noppon Saengkham [8] Marco Fu HKG - BEL Luca Brecel | | [5] Shaun Murphy ENG - CHN Yan Bingtao [12] Ronnie O'Sullivan ENG - ENG Gary Wilson | [13] Liang Wenbo CHN - ENG Stuart Carrington [4] Ding Junhui CHN - CHN Zhou Yuelong | | | | [3] Stuart Bingham ENG - ENG Peter Ebdon [14] Kyren Wilson ENG - ENG David Grace | [11] Mark Allen NIR - ENG Jimmy Robertson [6] John Higgins SCO - ENG Martin Gould | | [7] Barry Hawkins ENG - ENG Tom Ford [10] Ali Carter ENG - SCO Graeme Dott | [15] Anthony McGill SCO - SCO Stephen Maguire [2] Judd Trump ENG - ENG Rory McLeod
  13. Yay and now they can introduce the women's 50km too for that 4x5000m mixed proposal to be off the table.
  14. I don't agree with the British policy not caring about World Championships. Might have as well just stayed home.
  15. As soon as your athletes win medals, nobody will complain about the additions anymore. I actually welcome the addition of mixed events. I have nothing against them as long as they have depth.
  16. The UK is known for its expensive pizza which sucks.
  17. I'm curious to know what they're going to do with Track Cycling. Maybe they will axe another endurance event and replace it with Flying Lap.
  18. A couple of weeks ago, I had a dream FINA changed the programme to mostly obscure events and it featured a 6x12m Butterfly Relay.
  19. So far, I've only heard of shitty changes in all of sports.
  20. I don't go after such lists. What about Fencing? Where else do we have 200+ participants in World Cup stages?
  21. Clarence Cummings Jr. - Men's -62kg - entry weight of 321kg Yevhenii Nykonenko - Men's -85kg - entry weight of 300kg Really?
  22. Does nobody care about short track and Hungary's shot at medals next year here?
  23. Somebody should have told him that a woman had a better final score in the 10m air rifle in Rio (208.0) than the winner of the men's 10m air rifle competition (206.1).
  24. Yes, it's true and ridiculous. Five sports have been completely denied of funding: table tennis, weightlifting, fencing, archery and badminton. Here you can find out about it: http://www.uksport.gov.uk/news/2016/12/08/goal-set-for-tokyo-2020-as-investment-figures-are-announced And here are the current investment figures: http://www.uksport.gov.uk/our-work/investing-in-sport/current-funding-figures Note how modern pentathlon still gets almost 7 million. But sure, a sport like badminton that is quite popular in the UK and delivered the target of 1 medal in Rio gets nothing. Also a big middle finger for the men's foil team. All the years of work for nothing.
  25. Winter sport as a whole. Can't believe GB aims for a top 5 performance until 2030. That investment had better been used for archery, fencing, badminton etc...
